Could it imply resurrection rather than "death" per se? As in Kara Thrace allows humans to see past life and death to eternal life?

Ever since they mentioned Kara was the Harbinger of Death in Razor I thought it had some double meaning. Earth popped up and maybe they wanted us to think that Kara leading everyone there was fulfilling that particular prophecy. But your explanation fits very nicely, especially after what Baltar was shouting off about during the funeral.

Wasn't the prophecy that she would lead them all "to their end"? If so, wouldn't the uniting of human and Cylon into a hybrid species be the end of both parent species --- but also the birth of a new one? In that sense, "leading them all to their end" might not mean death or extermination, per se, but rather evolution.

Just an idea. I actually have no inside information, and I'm probably wildly off-target...

Or maybe it refers to the coming battle?

It could be anything really, whether it's taken literally or through metaphor. It might just refer to a DVD they're gonna find!

When Anders said that to Kara in 'Islanded...' I played it back about 8 times for his next comment. Unfortunatly I couldn't hear what he said next cause of the music. Any one else catch it?

As far as determining the exact meaning of any prophets words... I dunno.

The prophecy definitely has layers to its meaning. Kara being the "harbinger of death" may have many meanings - she died and was reborn (somehow), she was instrumental in bringing together the humans and cylon rebels which resulted in the destruction of the resurrection hub (making cylons mortal), and by the end of the series, the human race as we know it may be closer to extinction (by creating a new human-cylon hybrid species).

Kara leading them "to their end" no doubt has layers as well - the end of the journey, the end of the series, the end of the human and cylon species (as a blended hybrid species is formed).

Of all the mysteries and prophecies the show has had, I think Kara's is the easiest to understand. Now we just need to learn about the damned opera house and the angels...
