Boomer sleeperagent

As I was watching BSG Friday, a thought came to me. We know that the final five had their memories blocked. They blended in as normal humans just fine. We have also seen the other cylons blend in with humans just fine but they still had their memories. Why did Boomer not have any memories of being a cylon in season one. The other cylons were completly capable of infiltrating the fleet without a problem and still retain their memories yet Boomer didn't have hers in season 1?

I think more than likely they set her up like that. Thinking back on it, that technology really does foreshadow what is now going down in season 4.

They mind-zapped Boomer because of the line of work she was in. If there was even the slightest clue that she was an enemy agent, the military would detain her without hesitation, there is no "innocent until proven guilty" when the human race is facing extinction. So if she was captured, interrogated and asked if he was a Cylon and she answered "no" then to the best of her knowledge she was telling the truth.

But there wasn't a reason to suspect her anymore than the other cylons to begin with.

But there was the possibility of discovery.

I bet the Cylons didn't count on Adama figuring out Leoben was a Cylon. I mean he breathed and sweat and bled just like a human. Most wouldn't have figured it out.

I think Boomer was a contingency plan. They were leaving her in place in case something went wrong.

Leoben wasn't exactly trying to keep a low profile.

Re: Boomer sleeperagent

Perhaps. The six on Pegasus was able to get close enough to Admiral Cain to do her in if necessary and she still retained her memories. Boomer wasn't exactly in some vital position so she was far from suspect. Even when she started acting weird wouldn't be enough to tip off someone she was a cylon; considering what everyone has gone through with the near extinction of their race. That's bound to make a few people screwy.

Besides she was drawing attention to herself as it was. If she had her memories then she would have never have let on with the suspicious behavior.

Re: Boomer sleeperagent

Maybe Boomer didn't exist until the cylons placed her on Galactica? Then, she wouldn't need anything but false memories.

Or maybe, Boomer will be retconned into being Cavil's pet 8 project since before the miniseries. Then, he could have Boomer keep tabs on Tigh/Tyrol/Ellen. Someone had to place that smoke detector in CiC if it wasn't Doral. Who was giving her orders?

The whole sleeper agent plotline hasn't been used much. Boomer was a fluke from the blitz. MiniDoral didn't seem to be a boomer-style sleeper. Even Gina was aware of herself on Pegasus. If sleepers were a bigger deal, the whole allience wouldn't even be the least bit sensible.

The thing about Gina is I don't think she knew she was a Cylon from the start. Just as Boomer was able to plant explosives in the water-tanks with no clue she had done it, Gina was after the codes and getting close to Cain, but didn't necessarily know why she was doing it. The programming may have taken over allowing her to disrupt the network, once again without knowing she'd done it.

She did appear to be genuinely surprised when she saw the dead Six on the monitor, and of course then all bets were off, and she slipped into full Cylon mode. This could also explain her slight hesitation when she had a chance to put a bullet into Cain's face.

Re: Boomer sleeperagent

Boomer had to sign up to the millitary, officer school and had been on Galactica for over two years. were as Gina was a civillian contractor upgrading the Pegasus.

+ Boomer may have been one of the first infiltrators and making her "human" was necerssary, but then they saw how easy it was to blend in to colonial sociaty they didn't need fasle memorys and sleeper agents.
