Could Baltar be Daniel????

-Chris
Don't you think Anders would have mentioned that when he was telling about Daniel...since he now remembers who he was? "Oh yeah...that Baltar guy looks just like him!"

Given Cavil's hatred of Daniel I also think that if Baltar was Daniel then Cavil would have already found a way to kill him before now. Cavil and the other cylons knew Baltar from day one.
Well, think back to how willing Cavil was to torture/kill Baltar on New Caprica. One could say that Cavil was manipulating the other Cylons to yet another end.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x15: "No Exit"

^Of all the characters in the show, there are two I thought should never turn out to be Cylons, lest it cheapen their humanness: Laura Roslin and Gaius Baltar. I also had Starbuck on that list through most of season 1, but changed when they started with all that Kara's destiny stuff.

Baltar has to be human, even if everyone else turned out to be Cylon. He is the epitome of human frailty, a man fundamentally at war with himself. Him being Cylon would be one of the biggest "aw, shit!" moments in TV history.

I tend to agree, especially concerning Baltar.

Reading this thread was almost as exhausting as watching the episode. But I thought it was excellent. I didn't feel it was just an exposition simply because it was just snips and pieces that were jumbled all around. Plus you had some great acting performances.
I'm tempted to just record the rest and wait until the end to watch the remaing episodes in one wonderful day.

Now I know how Anders feels.

My brain hurts with all that exposition. It's going to take me a while to digest that episode.

Found myself giving the episode an above average. Sometimes, I wonder if they had left some things to mystery. It hangs together, just about.

Need longer to chew this over I think. I liked it. I think.

No, but it's a great one. I actually think it's the weakest one so far this half season but since the last four I gave 4/4 to that's not all that bad. For comparison I'd give this one a 3.5/4.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x15: "No Exit"

Interesting. I personally was fascinated by the Anders story. It reminded me a lot of DS9's 'Rapture' -- one of the best episodes of that series, in my opinion. I also really enjoyed the beats involving Tyrol, Adama, and the damages of Galactica, and Lee and Laura in the old Quorum hall. What really sold the episode to me, though, was Cavil and Ellen. I thought they were brilliant, frankly. 'No Exit' ties up the series both plotwise and thematically and does so with fantastic acting and expertly written and delivered dialog. Cavil's monologue on wanting to breathe supernova is probably among the best moments of the series for me - the sense of awe that I got was a lot like in 'Flesh and Bone' (another personal favourite of mine). Stockwell really hit it out of the park with this one. Probably his best performance of the whole series, I think.

The thing is that I'm really into soft sci-fi and epic world literature and all the philosophizing that goes with those things, so episodes like 'Flesh and Bone' and 'No Exit' are particular treats for me.

Kara had a "head Leoben".
It was a head something, but I don't think it actually was Leoben. It only looked like him. AFAIK, it denied being Leoben when she asked him.

^AFAIK, Head Six never flat out said that she and Caprica Six were one and the same either.
