on ADAM LAMBERT's side...

well...at least this time I am.

As you all know, I was totally in support of ABC axing Lambert's gig on GMA after his over-the-top performance on the American Music Awards. I do not believe that kind of act, men/men or women/women should be on at 7am. I will never back off of that!

But now they, ABC, have axed him from the Jimmy Fallon show. This is totally different, and, I think, is totally unfair. Fallon's show airs at late-night, after Conan, at 1230am. There have already been interesting peformances on late-night. Again, if this was GMA, I would be siding with ABC; but this is late-night. And the rating standards, and more importantly, little children are not, hopefully, watching this show.

Yes, I know, parents could easily DVR the shows at late night and show them in front of their kids in the day time. That would be hard to police, and I would never be in favor of that.

So, Adam? If by chance you are 'trolling' the blog-sphere, then I believe you should raise hell about not being able to perform simulated blow-jobs on men in the 1130pm hour.

He's a crappy excuse for a musician... more than enough reason to cancel him.

I agree that ABC has no business cancelling guests on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

They just didn't want him upstaging Jimmy Fallon with his antics, as 75% of Fallon's guests do.

Did you do any research at all before starting this topic?

First of all, Jimmy Fallon's show airs on NBC. Second of all, Fallon is in repeats this week.

That almost makes it sound as it's somehow affiliated with the paper itself and not something just anyone off the street could sign up for. Scared me there for a second.

On second thought though...

... You've got all of the qualifications for sensationalist journalism right here, Rob.

ABC is a homophobic piece of shit of a network, this was well know for awhile. If I were him I would bash the network.

I think the thing that offended more about his performance at the AMA's than the obvious is... he really did NOT sound good! Granted, I'm not a huge fan, but I have no problem admitting he's got a good voice (he really should go to Broadway; he'd be perfect there). But good lord, he was WAY off on the AMA's.

He has actually admitted that several times. When asked if he could redo anything about the show he said "I'd like to sing a bit better".

Re: on ADAM LAMBERT's side...

I'm googling for any other mention of Lambert getting "axed" from Jimmy Fallon's show, and all I can find is Rob's blog post. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he misheard or badly misunderstood something, but it does seem like he just made it up.

Also, it seems a little strange to be against men kissing each other at 7am, when you have an avatar of a half naked woman that can be seen by kids at any hour of the day or night.

GLAAD disagrees with you.

GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios issued the following: “It would appear that the kiss between Adam Lambert and his keyboardist did not factor into ABC’s decision. ABC has a history of positive gay and transgender inclusion that includes featuring kisses between gay and lesbian couples on-air. We applaud the visibility of openly gay performers and congratulate Adam Lambert for sharing his story on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ this week as well as his upcoming appearance on ‘The Jay Leno Show.’ ”

Furthermore the network has confirmed he is an unprofessional douche bag (bold mine):
“Given the live nature of the American Music Awards, Adam Lambert’s performance, which differed greatly from his rehearsal, caught many, including the network, off guard.

I wish he'd just go away.

I like his voice, but I think he's going to burn out quickly if he's not careful.
