Maybe not right after, but I'm pretty sure the Nistrim didn't have them.

I hope to see season 2 soon. I would love to see you do Enterprise as well. I think that the only show not to have a problem its first season was TOS. All of the others had rough first seasons. Although, my favorite first season, other than TOS, was ENT. It was fun and not afraid to make it's characters flawed and human. I am sure I am in the minority here.

P.S. My favorite series is actually DS9 then, TOS, ENT, TNG, and VOY.

I managed to borrow the second season at the weekend, but I'm currently suffering from a flu and I don't want my objectivity about the episodes to be compromised by how uncomfortable I am currently feeling. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow, but if not then I should begin the next season this week some time.

I do actually plan to rewatch Enterprise once I'm finished Voyager since I haven't seen any of that show since it ended, but I don't consider myself an Enterprise hater so I'm not sure if I could get away with doing a thread about it.

Re: A Hater Revisits Voyager

Feel better, man. I'm eagerly awaiting the next part, too.

I think I count as an 'Enterprise' hater too even though I'm not a 'Voyager' hater, so if you did a thread on it, I'd read it.

Since we are discussing season 1 episodes....

I watched "Emanations" and "Prime Factors" on Sunday and discovered a blooper in"Emanations".

When they are inside the cave on that asteroid and Torres suddenly spots a dead body, you can clearly see the "dead body" moving its head slightly. Then Torres says: "It's a humanoid, it is dead".

Obviously not!

You really really should. Pretty Pleeease? I love ENT and VOY and DS9 - the lovers-haters of those often seem to be aligned against TOS & TNG lovers oddly enough. There is room in my heart for them all but ENT VOY and DS9 are at the top of my list although not necc in that order and it does change up depending on my mood, the day, the weather, the alignment of the stars . . .

TOS is not at the absolute bottom of the heap because it brought me the SPOCK whom I've grokked all these many many long years. THE original 'ship in my 10 year old heart!!!!

I can't understand how anyone could hate an entire Star Trek series if they like at least one or more of the other ones. What makes sense to me is having a favorite and then least favorites. Every single Star Trek series had more than a few episodes that were great--interesting story line, believable acting, and excellent production values. It's just that some of the series didn't have enough of them.

I watched "The Gift" the other day...not an episode I ever thought of much. I was really impressed, it was a tight script, with good development for 2 characters. Not bad this Voyager..

But I thought that Enterprise was okay. It had an average first season, a poor second season, a pretty good third season and and average fourth season. I can't make a thread titled "An Okayer revisits Enterprise", okayer isn't even a word.

Besides, at this rate it will take me over a year to get around to it.

Ah, I've put some thought into this very point in the past and came to this conclusion:

I label myself as a Star Trek fan, and to the rest of the world I am a Trekkie. But when it comes down to it the only two series I am willing to buy on DVD are DS9 and TNG, and I only bought TNG because I managed to buy them at 1/3 of their normal price. I've watched all the other series and have enjoyed parts of them, but the true measure of fandom is if you are willing to shell out the money for the overpriced DVDs and I am not.

But when the world labels me as a Trekkie they don't make the distinction between the various shows; if I tell someone I'm a Trekkie then they will be under the mistaken assumption that I am a fan of Voyager. I don't like having to constantly justify my Trek fandom by explaining that I'm really only a fan of two of the series.

So while I don't hate Voyager as a TV series, I hate the way the world perceives me because of the existence of Voyager. If I had a button which could remove Voyager from the Trek canon then I would press it.

That's why I qualify as a hater and I don't need to rename the thread.

Re: A Hater Revisits Voyager

That's interesting, GodBen. I think I feel similarly, although I don't technically 'hate' 'Enterprise' (or really 'hate' any fiction) I just don't like it.

And why is it traumatizing that people outside of fandom remember Voyager?

And why should you justify your fandom to anyone? It makes no sense to me. If people like and/or remember Voyager, it should not diminish TNG or DS9 in anyway.

The outside world considers me a Trekkie also and I don't own a single DVD, nor do I intend to every buy one. I think there are different levels of fandom. I've never seen DS9 or Enterprise either. I tried to watch them a few times, but couldn't get into them. I would like to get into DS9, but I'm going to wait for a cable chanel to show it and I'll DVR it.

Because I'm shallow and I want to be popular.
