I think I could have done without the Wheu-hoo-hoo part, which I'm sure will be as dated by the 23rd century as Huzzah! is today.

As for the '...Man' comment, I'm pretty sure I recall Jake Sisko saying "oh, man" a couple times, so we know that slang makes it to the 24th century at least.

But still... you're a young guy who probably enjoys thrills and is sky diving...
from space. Woohoohoo hoo! should certainly be allowable. These people
are still Human. Just because they are in Starfleet doesn't mean they are
any less excitable or... Human.

I'm also as equally certain that McCoy, on a number of occasions, used the phrase "Blast it, man!" or "Dammit, man! I'm a doctor, not a (fill in the blank).

Hey guys, Paramount just yanked the video from YouTube!

Big surprise, huh?

Re: 'Star Trek XI' Super Bowl Commercial

Paramount took down the embedded video so I had to go looking for it.

A couple of general thoughts.

Any time I see a preview with explosions over more than half of the clip it gives me cause for concern.

While it was good to actually see McCoy in this clip he's not doing anything other than saying his name. Urban still seems like the wrong pick for the role, IMHO.

Of course, there's still this pesky little detail in that McCoy was not the doctor on the Enterprise when Kirk takes command and there's nothing out there that really suggests that he knew him before that. But, since this movie is an alternate reality, I suppose none of that matters any more.

All in all, I suppose the millions it will cost them to air this during the Super Bowl will probably be well spent as it will no doubt appeal the the hoards of drunk teenagers watching the game.

Assuming they actually remember it once they sober up, anyway.

Stupid. I can understand full movies being pulled. But what does Paramount think they are protecting by pulling a 30 seacond spot off Youtube???? Its free advertising. It was just shown on tv. What is the deal really when they pull this type of crap?? Copyright claim.

The ad was great except. . .

Nothing new (at least, nothing new other than .5 secs)

Major letdown. I was really hoping for some great Enterprise shots.

I don't think you saw the correct video. Are you sure you didn't just re-watch the trailer?

I don't get people complaining about Kirk's "Woo". He's done it before:

Yeah seriously. The whole first half of the trailer was new.
