Bakula And 'Men Of A Certain Age'

Men of a Certain Age, in which Scott Bakula plays one of three college buddies, has been picked up by TNT for airing later this year.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Ray Romano's (Everyone Loves Raymond) midlife crisis drama, Men of a Certain Age,, will air ten episodes at some point this year. Men of a Certain Age takes a wry look at what it means to be a man approaching middle-age. Bakula plays Terry; a handsome, intelligent man who is struggling to make it as an actor.

"'Men of a Certain Age' is about the highs and lows of being a guy in the modern era," said Michael Wright, senior vice president in charge of the content creation group for TNT and its sister networks, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "It's about three best friends, each hoping to fulfill his dreams before the clock starts running out. It's an honest, emotional, funny and very personal take on the subject."

In other Bakula news, Zap2It reports that Bakula will appear on Chuck as Chuck's estranged father. Chuck is the story of Chuck Bartowski, a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government's most vital secret agent. After opening an email subliminally encoded with government secrets, Chuck unwittingly downloads an entire server of sensitive data into his brain. The fate of the world lies in the unlikely hands of a guy who works at a Buy More Electronics store. Instead of fighting computer viruses, he must now confront assassins and international terrorists.

"'Quantum Leap,' it's not dissimilar to what we ask of Zach [Levi, star of Chuck]," said Chuck Co-Creator Josh Schwartz. "to be able to do comedy, drama, romance and action. It was a show we loved, and at this point it's going to require a lot of the same colors that Scott showed on 'Quantum Leap' and 'Star Trek'. So we're thrilled."
