I'd expect ambivalence, like Seven felt for her parents--love, yes, but rage as well.

Now, it could be argued he was repressing his emotional response to protect himself...

Okay, so which is it?

Anyone who is really traumatized can go into a repression mode--it's a denial reaction. I'd say that kind of betrayal would be a huge emotional trauma.

Which in my mind would set off an emotional dampener if Icheb had one. Repressing emotions may keep them from the conscious mind but I doubt the borg were inefficient enough to ignore the subconscious.

Icheb has his removed in 7.02 and they stuck it in Seven who didn't have problems much with it for 15 episodes.

I wonder if they had this technology earlier, that they could have castrated Kes' godlike super abilities so that she could have stayed aboard Voyger after all?

Have to say Kes was my preferred choice. I found Seven that annoying femake version of Wesley Crusher that they always turned to when the day needed to be saved. It's amazing how well Voyager did before she came along with the Borg technology. I loved Kes' child like innocence and how she wanted to help everyone.

The comparison is only warranted because they both wore catsuits.

But to be honest, I mostly think of Wes as season one TNGs 15 year old kid, so of course Seven is going to seem a touch more hard ass than he was.

I tend to think of Wes in that annoying S1 way too. To be fair the character improved in the later seasons.
