Re: The Stig: unhelmetted
His name was included in the BBC's formal investigation of Richard Hammond's accident as a driver, and he's been on the show as himself at least once. You know you watch too much Top Gear when you can tell his distinct driving style without the helmet on (he has very consistent arm movements compared to other drivers). Whatever the case, since he didn't spill the beans I'm sure his status as the Stig isn't in any danger.

Re: The Stig: unhelmetted
I always thought it was a gimmick they used... like... umm... Wilson from Home Improvement.

Re: The Stig: unhelmetted
Nope - generally most people don't know The Stig's identity - go to wiki and look under the Top Gear entry about The Stig but yes that's part of the gimmick ala Wilson's face. The previous stig spilled the beans in his biography which resulted in his departure from the show (it involved the stig, a car, nitrous oxide and an air craft carrier

Re: The Stig: unhelmetted
After all, some say that he has a titanium chin and can only converse in ZX-81 machine code. So it can't be this guy - right?

It's more like a Mexican wrestler than Wilson. Though I hope this means we can get Fat Stig back.
