Linda Hamilton back for new TERMINATOR trilogy. CONFIRMED.

Its been rumored about the net for months but McG and producer Joel Michaels confirmed it at a test screening for journalists at the L.A. Directors Guild of America.

report via CHUD
[McG]"Who likes that idea? Who wants a Sarah Connor voice-over?" McG asked. Almost every hand went up.

He continued, turning to producer Joel B. Michaels in the crowd, "Joel, what's the deal with Linda Hamilton?"

"It's happening," [Joel B.] Michaels replied.
So one more part of the Terminator saga comes back into play.

***edit: I should've put for Terminator Salvation not trilogy. If a mod can change that it would be great.

Continuity....and the Future War movie I've been longing for since 1991 when T-2's opening 10 minute scene happened.

Hamilton is in the Terminator sequel; all's right with the world.

Terminator Salvation's McG to ask Linda Hamilton to do voice-over

By Patrick Lee

McG confirmed some rumors and shot down others about his upcoming Terminator Salvation in an exclusive interview with SCI FI Wire and other comments after he screened footage from the movie in the latest stop—Los Angeles—in Warner Brothers' road show whistle-stop tour, among them:

•He intends to talk with original Sarah Connor, Linda Hamilton, soon about providing a voice-over narration—based on the tapes we see her recording for son John at the end of James Cameron's 1984 original Terminator—to open and close the movie. "We're in the business of doing that right now," McG said. "So we'll see what happens. She seems to be very supportive of the film, I look forward to showing it to her in about a week or so." He added: "The tapes that she left for her son to be aware of what it was going to take to win the war, those are the tapes that are going to bring us in and out of the picture."

•He intends to incorporate themes from Brad Fiedel's original Terminator score in Danny Elfman's music for the movie, clearing up confusion over early reporting about Elfman's participation. That would include the signature "DUN-dun-dun DUN DUN" rhythmic theme. "We use a great deal of Brad Fidel's original theme. See, I love it," he said.

•That he plans to screen the film for California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger soon and to get his blessing. Rumors have circulated that McG would somehow incorporate Schwarzenegger's image or face into the film, perhaps as the embodiment of the T-800 Terminator cyborg; McG wouldn't address those rumors.

On Wednesday at the Directors Guild of America theater in Hollywood, McG screened four pieces of film from the film: a short introduction to the post-Judgment Day world of 2018, in which we meet the main characters of Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin), Marcus (Sam Worthington) and John Connor (Christian Bale); an extended early action sequence in which Sam, Kyle and a small girl encounter survivors in a gas station, then find themselves caught up in a battle with a gigantic Harvester robot; a sequence in which Connor's helicopter comes under attack by aquatic Hydrobot robots and he confronts Marcus; and a final extended trailer in which we glimpse the scope and size of McG's envisioning of the Terminator world.

The footage garnered generally favorable reactions from the assembled press, and though the footage featured temporary visual effects, they were effective in conveying the epic scale, movement, look and intensity of McG's movie.

Actually, Danny Elfman denied this just a few days ago when MTV broke he news, as an exclusive, that he was doing the score and had just started writing it on January 7th or 8th as I recall. Elfman said:

indicated that the original “Terminator” theme by composer Brad Fiedel was not in use yet; nor is there mandate to incorporate the classic symphonic hook. He did, however, leave the door open for its appearance.
“I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it],” Elman said. “And if it doesn’t, we [won't]. I never really know what to expect when I begin other than just kind of get into it and have fun. Especially a movie like “T4” – just have fun. So that’s what I intend to do.”

So, McG is McWrong.

And Hamilton must be hard-up for a paycheck.

Not really. After her divorce from Cameron, she got, along with the $50 Million dollar settlement, all of his rights to The Terminator Franchise. She then sold them to the studio for UNGODLY amounts of money. Which is why they were able to milk this franchise without Cameron's consent. So the woman is fucking loaded.

Then she needs a hoppy. It's like that actress who I can't recall the name of, that keeps coming back to Alien movies after all this time.

Very good news. Lena Headey is excellent on the small screen, but there will only ever be one Sarah Connor in the cinema

So, McG is McWrong.
Or, more likely, Elfman is wrong since, you know, McG is the DIRECTOR of the movie.

I thought that was Gale Anne Hurd.

^ It was. Gale Anne Hurd's production company bought the rights to Terminator from Cameron before they would even agree to make the film (hers was the only firm willing to take a chance on it). They paid him $1. Linda Hamilton never had rights to the Terminator franchise.

As already stated...wrong.

Cameron sold the rights to Gale Anne Hurd for a dollar for the right to direct his screenplay.

See how much misinformation there is on the internet, folks?

Next you'll be telling me Sylvester Stallone didn't play the Terminator in the first 3 films!
