Star Trek: Countdown #1 Preview

The first issue of Star Trek: Countdown will debut on January 14th.

As reported by Comics Continuum, Star Trek: Countdown will hit the newsstands this month with the first of a four-part series.

Star Trek: Countdown will delve into the history of Nero, the Romulan villain of Star Trek XI and will fill in fans on events in the Star Trek: The Next Generation timeframe. "We kind of worked backwards from the Kurtzman/Orci script to figure out Nero's back-story and find out what's going on in the 'Next Generation' world," said co-writer Tim Jones. "It's a very poignant character piece tracing the steps of Nero, who descends from a proud Romulan patriot to a murderous arch villain."

Some of the artwork is now featured on the Comics Continuum site, including shots of Nero's Romulan ship (exterior and interior,) Nero and his crew.
