Cold hips -- causes???

I ALWAYS have really cold hips... more pronounced on my right side. Does anyone have an idea of what causes this? I thought that it may be a circulation problem since about a year ago I stopped working out and went up from 160lb - 190lb (I'm a 5'10" male) from a very active lifestyle to a completely sedentary one. I'm back into my exercise mode now, but my hips are still always cold even though I get daily activity.

Any ideas/thoughts???????????? This gets very uncomfortable. At times when we go to sleep and my fiance puts her hand on my hip it feels numb. I'm slightly worried

Go see your physician and even perhaps a neurologist.

diabetes, poor circulation (despite working out - do you smoke, consume caffeine?) is your belt too tight? Parasympathetic nerve condition? Counds a lit like sciatica except for the cold. I have sciatica and I get numb. I suppose the hip/thigh could get cold.

I do not smoke; however, I love diet coke As for my belt, I try not to wear it too tight. Is there any particular sensation in my back that I should note for that is symptomatic of sciatica?

My mother was diagnosed with diabetes when she was around 45 (5 years ago)... I hope not

Re: Cold hips -- causes???

No sensation or symptoms for sciatica. Just happens. Especially look for sudden numbness in the thigh when sitting. Get yourself screened for diabetes ASAP. That is, if you have any other risk factors for it. Sciatica is no big deal, just an inconvenience.

^ I always hoped I'd escape diabetes... in my immediate family, only my mother has it; however, 5 of her cousins (all sisters) had it...

Doctor's appointment made for tomorrow! Let's git 'er done!

I'd never made the diabetes connection... I mean I hope I don't have it, but I'd never considered that a) it runs in the family, b) I get VERY cranky if I haven't eaten, and c) my frigid hips... all of these issues have been with me for at least the last year (except "a" obviously).

some of the greatest men in history have worn pants. Take Rutherford B. Hayes for example, inventor of the pornographer.

I have diabetes...I don't get cold hips.

?

If you drink a lot of Diet Coke, aspartame has also been known to cause nerve and sensory issues.

You should totally follow what I say, too...I'm first year pre-med!

T'Baio, knows everything.
