Superglue

Just thought i'd ask if anybody has had any bad experiences with superglue, such as have you ever glued yourself to something? or glued something to something else by accident?
Worst i've ever done was superglue my fingers together, the glue was extremely runny and it ran all over my hand and I didn't notice because I was too busy fixing something and when I finished I couldn't open my fingers up and ended up scrubbing my hand under the hot water tap for quite some time and even then my hand was still covered in the stuff, it took a couple of days of picking at it all to get it off.

So then, any bad experiences?

I was actually going to mention that scene in my original post but decided not to.

Superglue kind-of freaks me out a little. I do what I can with it when using to prevent self-gluing. Though i admit I did use it once to stop a cut that wouldn't stop bleeding from, well, bleeding.

There's a "couldn't take your eyes off the glue" joke in there somewhere...

Re: Superglue

Nah, I never had anything stuck to myself (including myself) with superglue

But I do have a little embarrassing story though: My friend asked if I was possible to glue the handle back on some ceramic cocoa-pot she had inherited. Sure, I said, no problem!

So I glued it back on.

She then wanted to know how good a superglue-repair was, if she could serve hot cocoa from it or if it would leave her standing with the handle in the hand and the cocoa on the floor. I then took a firm grip on the handle with two fingers -and yanked it. -Breaking it in two new places

Re: Superglue

Nowadays I only really use the stuff to when I cut my hand somewhere. If it's a deep cut, or if it's on a joint someplace I just put some superglue in it.

It seals the wound and keeps out infection, besides stopping and preventing bleeding.

That liquid band-aid is pretty much just superglue, they just swap out which kind of alcohol they use in it.

And, you do realize the acetone in nail polish remover will desolve the superglue right?

The worst I did was glue the cap on after the first use. Now I can't fix stuff. I am afraid of prying it open. It could get messy.

^Just prick a little hole in the tube and take what amount you need. It comes in a self-sealing tube you know

I got a crapload of it on my fingers once when the tube exploded on my hands, but turns out hot water allowed me to peel it off.

Thanks for the advice! I will get around to properly mending that cat-shaped ceramics brooch that lost its tail, with a little stick glued to the back, reinforcing the seal so that it holds this time.
