IDW Question

Will there ever be a regular monthly Trek title?

The last few companies to take on the ST comic tie-in license have avoided ongoing monthly issues because sales weren't supporting them. Customers seemingly prefer mini-series, plus groups of five and/or six issues per arc make excellent graphic novel-like trade omnibuses, so bookshops like to stock those.

Re: IDW Question

IDW in particular seems to have an aversion to ongoings, especially with their licensced properties. Neither Doctor Who nor Transformers has one.

Re: IDW Question

Plus, I imagine that, if IDW starts doing comics of some of the Pocket relaunch material (for example, anything post-the Destiny trilogy), doing a one-shot or a mini would be easier to fit in with the prose novels than a monthly ongoing series would.

Re: IDW Question

It might be worth mentioning here that Andy Schmidt has informed me that we'll be seeing my Alien Spotlight comic book focusing on the Klingons in April 2009. Entitled "Four Thousand Throats..." the story will feature Kang and have amazing artwork by Fallen Angel's JK Woodward.
