Star Wars Robot Chicken II - anyone?

Did anyone happen to catch this on Adult Swim last night? I recorded but won't get a chance to watch it until much later. The original is still one of the funniest things I have ever seen, bar none, so I'm eager to find out if the new installment is just as good.

Re: Star Wars Robot Chicken II - anyone?

It's not.

I watched it last night, eager for a follow-up to the first one. It's a huge let-down. I could probably count the number of times I smiled on one hand. As for laughs? There were none.

The first one was classic. The second one was Prequel-like disappointment.

Yeah, it was mildly amusing. Not nearly as funny as the first.

The Anakin slaughtering the children, I thought was pretty freaking funny. Especially the gag at the end. I do have to wonder HOW he could kill kids...

That doesn't surprise me, really. That first one is a tough act to follow. Then again, I wonder if it's affected by jsut how much of a SW geek the viewer is or isn't it.

The part with the mouse droid killed me. I don't know why, but that was hilarious.

"This deal is getting worse all the time" was funny. Part of that was due to Billy Dee Williams reprising Lando's voice.

I swear they did the Bespin dinner scene before. Or someone has.

I too thought it was good, but not as good as the first. My favorites were the trooper's exasperated take after his wife tells him what for (hard to do with the expressionless helmet!), the mouse robot, and the water serpent creature. I always wondered about that skeleton. The Palpatine stuff is getting a little played out, I thought.

I don't usually watch the show, but I liked their first SW special so I gave this one a try, and I thought it was really funny. I loved how they interpolated these scenes into the events of the films so that you could almost buy it had actually happened. And I loved the sea-monster scene and its dig at the idea of an entire planet having only one environment.

Re: Star Wars Robot Chicken II - anyone?

I loved the ending of the AT-AT race scene, where Veers was like, "WTF just happened." and then Vader calls and Veers puts the cup over the little hologram That was great.

And also Palpatine ragging on Vader for smashing the star destroyers into the asteroids. While yes that is being played out, it's still funny as hell.

LANDO: Boba, nice ship, but I'm not in love with the name.

That one was subtle.

I thought it was hysterical, even better than the first one. Vader trying to drink with his cup, Jar Jar doing the Geico commercial, Palpatine complaining about sitting under the air conditioning and telling his Imperial Guard to "use his Staff of Ra" to fix it...classic.
