XBOX Live: New Experience Nov 19th

Ok, so I've got the emails, and seen some of the stuff come up on my dashboard. But what is this whole thing about?

We get to make Wii like avatars now, and have a party room or something, but anything truly big?

Also, is this the update that will let us copy games to our harddrives?

Discuss.

Yeah, it adds Netflix support and all that. I'm just interested in the game installs myself.

You can also bet MS will have a little something up their sleeve for everybody who has been connecting to XBlive with modded 360s and been playing all the leaked big hitters like GearsII, Fallout, Far Cry and the likes.

Jammy buggers...

Here's a pretty good hands-on with the thing.

That really sucks that I might lose my Tron background theme because of this. Sure, I'll still have it; it will probably just look like crap.

Here's some more information from Ars Technica.

I'm really, really looking forward to this. Not so much because of the avatars but because I think the UI and user experience will be much improved. This should be a lot more fun to use.
The installation option for games is also pretty cool, I think.

I'm mostly looking forward to the Netflix streaming but the other interface changes look fun as well. Can't wait.

I heard it was permanent, but who knows with internet rumours?

I still think the avatar thing is stupid. But that's a minor issue.

I see from the official 360 forums that people with the official NXE preview were transporting their 360s HDD over to their friends 360s, and then slapping their HDD onto their friends 360, which then installed the new firmware update onto their friends 360 and banned it from XBlive......

With friends like this who needs enemies...

This is the real problem. People keep saying PC gaming is dead because of Piracy. Well, at least big budget PC games aren't leaked more than three weeks before release.
Fallout, Fable and Gears... pretty much the three worthwhile 360 releases this year, all available now on torrent sites!

I wasn't even aware of this. Since I don't play video games anywhere near the amount I used to, I haven't bothered to research the possible ways to "play with" my 360. Unlike my old Xboxes that didn't think twice about before opening up.
