New Knight Rider Toys?

I love old-school Knight Rider... and toys. I have the Knight 2000 Voice Car, a "Whip Shifter," the die-cast car from the "Turbo Boost" set, and I also have the newer 1:18 die-cast car, a talking, radio-controlled car, and the Hot Wheels car. I might even go nuts and buy the new GPS.

One thing I wish Kenner had done back in the day was capitalize on their Knight Rider license and the engineering know-how behind their M.A.S.K. toys, to make a KITT that could change from cruise mode to Super Pursuit Mode. That would have been really cool.

Given the new TV series, how likely is it that we'll see toys for the new show? More importantly, how likely is it that we'll see more new retro-era toys for the old show? I want my cruise-to-SPM Knight 2000!

well the 5 inch action figures are always a possibility, and KITT is a car so that opens up many options in terms of toys, not least remote control.

Re: New Knight Rider Toys?

There is a Knight Rider in name only mustang 1/18 being sold. Apparently the Knight Rider or Shelby people backed out at the last moment. So there's no Knight Rider looking things to the car. No scanner no dashboard nothing.

The Turbo Boost set...is that the one with the black launcher that lets you rocket the car out of it after working the mechanism?

I had that!

Re: New Knight Rider Toys?

That's the one! Eventually I glued the launcher atop an A-Team van which was scaled to fit Star Wars/G.I. Joe-sized action figures. I'd launch action figures forward at opposing armies.

I really wouldn't be surprised if a company like Sideshow Toys begins sending out collector based figures.
