Edward is double crossed when he is in Mexico in search of Russia's new age nuclear bomb. Ruthy is accidentally put into a dangerous situation by Edward, which causes an FBI agent to look into the matter. Tom/Raymond's wife thinks there is more to the business trips he always takes, so she hires a private investigator to check it out for her.

This show really needs to start impressing me.
I'm getting close to dropping it.

It's make or break time for me, too. If they cop out on Edward being the actual killer of the doctor, I'm outta here.

OK, I wasn't impressed but I was somewhat entertained.
They bought themselves another week.

The globe trotting is getting to be a bit much though.

The show's still entertaining, but the entire premise is flawed. Not knowing anything about your spy activity, doesn't make you better hidden... it compromises you because you have no idea what you need to hide and what you need to cover for. In the pilot, Henry gave up who he was because he didn't know about Edward. The only thing it would be good for is if you're captured and have no information to give.

I'm out. It's just too unbelievable. Christian Slater gets on my nerves. I couldn't finish this episode. The whole awkwardly bumbling through each others' lives just does nothing for me. Edward behaved like an absolute idiot with his daughter, and the fact that he doesn't seem to care about this child who is his own flesh and blood, regardless of whether he chose to father her, makes him beyond contemptible. As far as I'm concerned, the whole premise is only buyable in the "technology can do magic" realm, and the fact that the characters are stupid, or base, or just plain boring sends the show right down the toilet.

They get bonus points for NOT coping out on Edward killing the doc. A lesser should would be backpedaling and trying to make Edward a likable, misunderstood rogue. Yay! The measure of quality for this show is the degree to which they do not cop out with Edward.

And the back and forth with Edward blowing $2000 on a naughty dress for his own prepubescent daughter and Henry retaliating by breaking his own finger is the kind of insanity this show could really use more of.

And they are ramping up the noose-tightening plotlines pretty quickly, what with the fake FBI guy and the real PI.

The only boggle: Christian Slater didn't hit the drunk-act hard enough in the scene where he blabbed about the MI5 operation, I thought he was turning traitor.

This should be the Manchurian Candidate scenario, with Edward as an enemy agent and Henry with some very sensitive job that would be worth infiltrating. Oh well, the premise is set now and I'll try to ignore the total idiocy of it all.

I'll give him a pass on the dress. He has no concept of what it means to be a dad. He was probably thinking he was being a great dad to give her a dress she'd love if she was 17 and going to the prom. That kind of contrast between Edward and Henry is the meat & potatoes for this show.
