I don't have a short attention span and I can't get through it without falling to sleep. I've tried a few times, too.

Wow, I think you overestimate viewing audiences.....most people can't stand that movie. I think it's one of the best films science fiction movies ever, but I've met a ton of people who can't sit through it.

I used to be one of them. Didn't like this movie till a couple years ago I watched it again and found an appreciation for it. I will admit I fast forward thru some of it and as far as I'm concerned the movies ends when Dave leaves he ship. None of that V'ger acid trip crap for me thank you.
