G4 is reporting that the main villain of the next movie will be:

This was reported a while ago, back in July.

I just hope that Michael Bay stays away from this character as it is a very complex and something that the first movie didn't touch on. I just hope Bay and IDW is just leaking out false info...

As he was portrayed in the comics, this is "The Fallen": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallen_(Transformers)

I personally don't understand the problem with him being in it. He's a Transformer, he's evil and he has ties to the mystic beginnings of the Transformers. Seems like an ideal character for the movie.

Also, just because he's called "The Fallen", his identity could be different altogether. Most of the movie characters were "reimagined", I suspect "Fallen" will be too.

Okay, after reading about him on Wikipedia, I don't get why he would be a bad idea for a villain? Just given the little bit of info, he seems to be the quasi-equivalent of the Transformers version of Satan.

Because he's complex character.

You would have to deal with Unicron and Primus.

Because how do you keep the Fallen a very powerful character and yet not have very many characters on screen?

I am tired of all these re-imaging of characters. Blech.

I don't get why they picked the Fallen. A character that's only been seen in the Comics. Seems like a strange move.
