Spiner To Sign 'Dreamland' CD In Los Angeles

Brent Spiner is keeping busy with a new documentary project and with promoting his Dreamland music CD, and has no plans to reprise his Data character.

As reported by UInterview, Spiner is working on a new documentary, but he was coy with the details. "I'm going to go from one end of the country to another," he explained, "just going to people's houses and talking to them. There's a specific reason, which I'd rather not talk about, but I won't be making fun of people, that's not what I'm looking for. I really am just looking for ordinary people or extraordinary people or peculiar people or not peculiar people to visit. Just a variety kind of a cross-section of America and there is a theme but I'm going to keep that to myself just at the moment because it's so simple that I'm afraid somebody else will do it before I get out there." Spiner encouraged people who would like to be a part of the documentary to contact him at

An upcoming appearance at the Los Angeles Comic Book & Sci-Fi Convention is in the cards for Spiner. The convention is being held in Los Angeles at the Shrine Hall on 700 W. 32nd Street (across from the U.S.C. campus) on Sunday, October 12. Spiner will be there to promote and to sign his Dreamland music CD from 1 to 3 P.M. Admission to the convention is $8.00 and the cost for the Dreamland CD, autograph on the CD and autograph for one additional item will cost $25.00.

Spiner has no plans to play the popular Data again, feeling that he is told old to play the childlike android. "Sean Connery said, 'Never say never,'" said Spiner. "So I wouldn't say 'never," but probably never. We are getting a little bit old in the tooth to be doing it, at least I am. Data is a character that I think is about youth, in a way. And he's about childlike wonder. Exploring humanity with sort of childlike eyes...some of the other people could come back way easier than my character could."

Re: Spiner To Sign 'Dreamland' CD In Los Angeles

My buddy gave this CD to me as a birthday present.

Has anyone else here listened to it?

It's twice as gay as his last album, which is funny because he is singing about finding the girl of his dreams.

I heard it on Napster.
It's alright. Just not my type of music.
I wish that he was more into Zepplin than Gerswin.
You're right, it does sound a little "gay".
The next day is always better because you woke up and it's not yesterday.
