That's why we have these books. I don't think we should be focusing on the negative in this thread, but then again, it is pretty hard to discuss Trip and T'Pol, and not mention TATV at some point...

Anyway, one of my biggest complaints about season four was

that T'Pol and Trip never mind-melded. "Beneath the Raptors Wing" rectifies that as well, but I must admit that reading about it makes me regret never seeing it on screen even more.

Trip and T'Pol's relationship is stronger and more meaning ful in this book

that Mindmeld between them certainly shows how they feel and care about one another.

Constructive criticism is fine. What we don't like to see in here is TnT bashing, since this is an appreciation thread -- a shippy haven for TnT fans.

I really liked this book alot and it leaves with alot of questions at the end

Like what's going to happen with Trip & T'Pol both being on Vulcan at the same time ans the political situation on Vulcan having Romulan spies and saboteurs causing trouble.What's going to happen with Y'cha and Denak can they be trusted or is T'Pol way too trusting of thek I think they're lying to Trip & T'Pol. I think Trip has good reasons not to trust Y'Cha or Terix/Tevik either.Also what's going to happen with Enterprise and Starfleet trying to protect themselves against the Romulans and the change of tactics they're using to take over allied ships.And protect Earth, Mars, and Alpha centauri.

It's an epic length novel and took me almost 2 weeks to finish reading it because this one of the longest Enterprise neovels yet.Thanks mike for givings sucha great story and I appreciate the Trip & T'Pol scenes in this book.

My take:

Denak is a good guy, but Y'cha is with Ejhoi Ormiin dissident group following some perverted form of reunification idea.

T'Pol and "Sodok" continue doing what they've been doing for those two weeks in Raptors Wing (although there's a possibility that they'll get separated again, just for drama's sake).

Mach 5 sounds like that's the direction the next book could take. I'm curious to find out if it will Be Micheal Martin or Andy Mangels who will be writing the next book in the Romulan war miniseries.

I cannot WAIT to get this book which is not out in Australia yet. Went to a sci fi store yesterday that gets the books by air and charges a ton for them. I'm so far behind in my Treklit I don't usually bother but I was ready to buy this one as soon as I could.. but they did not have it yet.

I'll admit that all the

separated by space and secrets angst really ticked me off in Relaunch. I would rather have seen the actual relationship being worked out, the way it would have been for the timeline of Trip and T'Pol in E2. I think that is harder to write, easier to just make everyone in emotional pain and separated.

I haven't been around much latley so it's good to see this thread back on top again. I really enjoyed "Beneath the Raptor's Wings" and for me, it was the best written of all the Enterprise books to date. For Trip & T'Pol fans there really wasn't very much, in terms of the number of pages, devoted to our favorite couple. It was painfully small and the least amount of the last three books. However, what little Martin did write about them was pretty powerful stuff IMO. Seeing as Mach 5 disclosed his favorite passage, I guess I will too:

Then she grabbed her travel bag, turned silently on her heel, and walked very quickly back to the waiting hovercar. She could hear the echo of his last thought and knew he could hear hers. They were one and the same: I love you.

This was something I wish we could have heard at least once in the TV series.

IMO, Martin has established in the book that Trip & T'Pol's bond is in fact a Syranite marriage and left no doubt that T'Pol's now considers herself and Trip to be "married". Martin also eluded (IMO) that the bond was something that was permanent not transient. Very powerful turn of events

I was suprised to see the turn of events on Vulcan

When it came to Trip & T'Pol's bond and the fact she accepts they're married in the Syrannite fashion.I also liked they mentally told each other I love you. I also liked the fact she kissed him out in the open before she left to return to the Enterprise and didn't care what the Vulcan driver thought.It's One of my favorite scenes in the book

Yep, it really does bring a smile to your face when you read it. It almost makes up for all the "wrongs" of the TV series. Thank you Mr. Martin.
