Who's the hubby and who's the wifey?

Spock says: death by phaser.
You know, I don't agree with the gay lifestyle either, but I also believe in "Live and let live". What's so wrong with them being married if they want?
Because it gives them "special" rights that other married couples don't have, like spousal insurance benefits, joint tax preparation and hospital visitation.

Oh yeah, and it tears the very fabric of our society apart. Straight marriages everywhere are failing because George and Brad got married. Haven't you heard?

In lieu of gifts, George and Brad are asking for donations to fight Prop 8. I'm off to donate now... http://www.hrc.org/10459.htm

The purpose of any Constitution is to ensure and secure rights, not to deny them. It's anti-American to support a constitutional amendment to deny rights or dissolve marriages, IMO.

It all comes down to the Star-Bellied Sneetches, really. That Doctor Seuss was a genius.

I'm honored to say that I know both George and Brad. A more stable, loving couple for 20+ years I don't think I've ever met.

You should be lucky to have a relationship half as good as theirs.

My "lifestyle" is that of a married, middle income man.
Anyway, congrats to the happy couple, and thanks for my new quote, George!
The gay lifestyle is men liking men, and women liking women. Nothing negative was meant by my comment. I'm on your side.

Relax.

I´m relaxed.
The phrase ´gay lifestyle´just always confused me. "Men liking men" is just being gay. Very often, the word ´lifestyle´is thrown in to imply that being gay means a ´lifestyle´of promiscuity, decadence, drug abuse, etc.

Like I said, my lifestyle is that of a married, middle income man.
So, what exactly don´t you "agree" with? Just askin´...nice and relaxed!

Not being a gay man, I like women, so I don't agree with gay people's preferences.

Nothing against them, just don't practice it myself.

If you have no problem with them getting married, then I don't understand why it's necessary to state that you don't agree with it. That's like saying for a hetero union, "The bride is really not my type, but good luck to them." You wouldn't say that, you'd just say "congratulations." Qualifying your wishes only casts a shadow on you.

The problem is with the word "lifestyle" itself. What is a lifestyle, anyway? People don't have lifestyles, they have lives. People live their lives, not a lifestyle. It makes it sound like their life is a play, a put-on, an affectation. No. It's reality. It's a life.

If anything, a closeted gay man lives a lifestyle, pretending to be straight when he's not. That's an affectation. But even still, that's his life, the way he's living. It's not done for style. It's done for convenience or a job or social acceptance or family reasons, but not for style. It's done to live life.

If I was God, I'd ban the word "lifestyle". It's pure babble.

I say that all the time. Does that make me anti-hetero? I guess I'd better tell my wife.

Sometimes comunication just doesn't work. For me, this was one of those times. I'm not a gay-hater, but somehow, no matter what I say in support of it, these folks now percieve me as one.

Oh well.

I really see nothing wrong with two people doing something that makes them both happy as long as they are not killing, stealing from, or hurting another person by doing it. These two men getting married HURTS NO ONE. And since true happiness is a rare and valued commodity, I would say that these two men were truly blessed to have found each other and I wholeheartedly congratulate them on their marriage. And they can count on my vote to defeat Prop 8.
