USS Federation NCC-2100 in a New Trek Comic!

Yesterday I bought Issue #4 of Star Trek: Year Four, and what did I find? A picture of the "Feddy" -- Franz Joseph's dreadnought.

Love it.

Yep. That was a pleasant shock. I wonder how the got the rights from Ballantine to use the design?

As I understand it, Ballentine doesn't own the rights to the FJ stuff. He retained them personally, and now his daughter Karen administrates them.

When PNT Models did the conversion kits for the Polar Lights Enterprise, Tom Sasser aquired the rights from the FJ estate thru Karen.

And it's very affordable, I understand.

Ballantine has publishing rights to the FJ materials. Franz Joseph Designs retains copyright over the FJ materials.

The dreadnought was featured in Star Trek: Year Four's concluding issue. The USS Federation, NCC-2100, was commanded by TMP's Admiral Nogura.

Fun stuff.

I just picked this up. By the cover art, I assume Spock got a job with a band and is doing a Stevie Wonder impression?

Federation blasted a warp nacelle off of a Klingon cruiser as well.

I was thinking Ray Charles, but Stevie Wonder works, too.
