New 'Star Trek' R/C Toys To Appear
As reported by TrekMovie.com, fans will soon have a chance to fly their own Enterprise models. Mattel's Tyco will debut four different ships, with prices ranging from $20 to $199. The ships will be sold at retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target and Toys-R-Us. The $20 entry-level Enterprise, based on the refit model, is called the "Power Charger". It has no radio controller but must be charged up. It will then fly in a circle. The next level up is the $40 model, which is the same ship, but with a radio controller. There will also be a Klingon Bird of Prey in this price range. Moving up to the $70 level, a larger, better-constructed Enterprise will be offered. The controller for this looks like a Star Trek Communicator and the controls are accessed via touch-screen. An accompanying Tricorder is the charger. The $199 version Enterprise is a giant four-foot version, which comes with the same Communicator controller and Tricorder charger. Star Trek XI version Enterprises should be available in April of 2009. Mattel hopes to eventually include other Enterprise models such as the Enterprise-D and may offer enemy vessels as well. ACTUALLY FLY IN THE AIR WITH RADIO REMOTE CONTROL! What does your R/C Enterprise look like? What is it with some people? Any excuse to complain about something. If they demonstrated a talking monkey they'd complain about its accent. Cripes!
