Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

Since I put one up for Smallville I'm afraid I neglected one for my other show Terminator. But, to be fair, this season has been pretty closely guarded so far.

Starting with an interview by BAG about Season Two.

Other spoilers:
  • Cameron will reboot with her default programming in season one (to kill John Connor)
  • Two new cast members are joining the show. One is a business executive named Catherine (played by Garbage's Shirley Manson) and the other is a love interest for John named Becky.
  • The upcoming season will focus on preventing judgment day.
  • The second episode will involve a military academy.
  • Agent Ellison has become a firm believer in Sarah's cause and is trying to find his part in it.

I don't like the idea of Cameron turning bad. If it's simply a matter of her rebooting, why didn't she turn bad when she was shocked by the safe? And if it's that easy for her to turn bad, once the Connors stop her, they should eliminate her to prevent any future trouble. It just seems contrived and stupid.

Agreed. Sounds like an uninspired crappy plotline to me.

Maybe they will have to giver her a chip containing her later memories and that is the way they stop her.

The show show is predictable crap in the way of storylines, however it's somehow still a fun show.

I like this part...

The upcoming season will focus on preventing judgment day.

Wow! That's every season until it happens, it's the who point of the show and movies!

I'm going to have to actually watch this show...have seen a few episodes including the premire and the finale but barely any of the middle ones. Liked what I saw and am glad its coming back for a second season.

I am wondering if they will tie this in with Salvation next year?

According to what I've read the Sarah Conner Chronicles are totally seperate from Terminator 3 and Salvation...

^ Partially true. They're back to saying "There will be a connection" and that's it. Rumor has it (it was posted on TerminatorFiles recently) that Summer Glau was seen on the set of Terminator Salvation.

Now that she's eeeeeeeeevil.... Does that mean that John knocked her up half way through season one?

Re: Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

Some new stuff from TVGuide

In short:

- Fox insisted on the introduction of a love interest for John.

- Cameron's emotional understanding from the pilot was a pseudo script that the terminator had been programmed with for her first meeting with John.

- Season two is about Evolution.

Re: Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

I know there's no way of knowing, but, I've wondered if delaying the inevitable (from one POV;TSCC seems to revert to it being hard to prevent but still possible) dilutes or worsens Judgement Day? Does Skynet merely get to go online as a higher-tech threat, or are more Humans aware and/or just plain ready for a disaster of that proportions? In a sad way, people after 2001 would be a lot more ready for a sudden strike than people in the 'total ambush' of the original 1997 attack. Skynet as software may be able to launch every connected programmable nuke, but it does not automatically control subs and planes. In the original scenario (as I understand it), it launched an attack on one side and waited for the response-scenario to pare humanity down to the nubs. But in T3 and in implied scenarios glimpsed in TSCC, it has 'only' those nukes that a computer wholly controls. Still a hellacious thing, but perhaps a more survivable apocalypse than simply letting both sides have at each other. To quote the great Jean-Luc, has Skynet's tampering with its own past perhaps resulted in the slow unraveling of its tapestry?
Could the ultimate solution to J-Day be taking it from the end of days down to 'just' a very nasty terrorist strike or its equivalent?

Re: Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

^ Actually it depends on the storyline. There are a few comic books that discuss this very idea (the change in the date of judgment day). Here's a roundabout idea of a few of them.

1.) In one timeline Judgment Day is relatively early in the computer age and Skynet isn't able to build up a suitable war machine to do much damage. The death and destruction isn't as wide spread and the Resistance is led by General Jane Connor. John was born a girl.

2.) In another timeline Judgment Day was significantly delayed and Skynet was able to prolong the war into at least the 2060s.

3.) In the timeline where John Connor was killed before JD the tech levels had increased so highly that Skynet won and was in the process of terraforming the earth so that no biological life would exist there again. They were preparing to launch ships that would proceed to other planets to conquer. Think the Borg.

There are only nine episodes so you most likely have seen most of them.

And the show ties into the third movie a little bit with the mention of the cancer, and that's why they jumped into the future in the pilot.

Or she makes a choice to override her own programming.
