Tolpin On Playing Spock
As reported by PressRepublican.com, when Phase II producer James Cawley called him, Tolpin thought it was a joke. "I thought I was on Candid Camera," said Tolpin. "He said 'Will you play Spock?' I said 'Are you kidding me?' And here I am." Tolpin accepted the role because, "I saw it as a chance to play an iconic character," he said. "It fulfilled a lot of small fantasies for me. Plus, when would I ever get to play Spock again?" In addition to playing the pointy-eared Vulcan, Tolpin is directing the latest episode, Enemy Starfleet, in which guest star Barbara Luna (Marlena Moreau, Mirror, Mirror) steals a Federation starship and romances James T. Kirk. A professional director, he felt that "We could notch up the performances of the actors. And they've pulled together." To read more, head to the article located here. |
