Re: Sequels That Are Great
I think most would agree Silence of the Lambs was better than Manhunter (though perhaps it's not a proper sequel) The second Austin Powers movie (IMO) ![]() You've hit most of the big ones already- Aliens, Empire, Terminator 2 |

Re: Sequels That Are Great
The Empire Strikes Back Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Terminator 2 Superman II (either cut, both were good) Star Trek III, and IV Revenge of the Sith I want to put a Batman film on here, but the only good ones were 1989 and Begins, niether of with qualifies as a sequel, but what the hell, they're on the list. |

Except, I remember Analyze That (sequel to Analyze This) as being decent, but not better than the first. |

Re: Sequels That Are Great
Actually, they are second sequels or else third movies in a series. A third sequel is the fourth movie in a series, just as a first sequel is the second. ![]() Pedantry aside, I can't add anything to what has already been posted. NX_01 Mark's list is particularly good.

Re: Sequels That Are Great
In my mind The Bourne Ultimatum and perhaps Goldmember can be filed under "Third Sequels that Buck the Trend of Being Inferior to the Original(s)". |
