Auberjonois In 'The Imaginary Invalid'

Tony Award-winning Ren Auberjonois returns to the stage as Argan, a seventeenth-century French hypochondriac.

As reported by Playbill, Auberjonois will appear in The Imaginary Invalid, adapted by Alan Drury and directed by Keith Baxter. The Imaginary Invalid will appear at the Lansburgh Theater in Washington, D.C., from June 10 through July 27th.

Auberjonois is no stranger to theater. He won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Sebastian Baye in Coco. He has also been nominated in the past for Tony Awards for his roles in The Good Doctor, Big River and City of Angels.

In The Imaginary Invalid, Auberjonois plays Argan, an eccentric and wealthy hypochondriac who decides to marry off his strong-willed daughter Anglique to a doctor, so that he will always have a physician around when needed. Unfortunately for Argan, Anglique (Gia Mora) is in love with another man and seeks to thwart her father's wishes.
