Eh. I doubt it. I adore TNG, having grown up on the show, but it's got its own share of goofy '80s touches. If someone wants to come along and redo all that, I'd give them a fair shot. Sure the changes could be for the worst, but they could be for the better, too.

Funny, people never seemed to have a dispute over TOS canon for the 40 years Trek has been around. The only real "canon debate" that fans can't agree on is whether or not "Enterprise" should be added to the Trek continuity.

There's only so far you can change something before it becomes a totally different entity. I think Abrams should keep that in mind.

And the degree of that change before it becomes a different entity is different for each person, which was my point. What you see as violating the Trek spirit I and Sam and plenty of others see as interesting cosmetic surgery.
