Rear Admiral
Frakes To Direct TNT Movie

Jonathan Frakes will direct the new installment of the Librarian series; The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice.

As reported by, Frakes has taken the helm of TNT's third The Librarian movie, which is due to be aired in 2008, and stars Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter of E.R.) as Flynn Carson, the Librarian.

The Librarian series is about Flynn Carsen, a college student with multiple academic degrees who takes on the job of librarian at the Metropolitan Public Library. This position of library, though, has existed for centuries with the purpose of protecting historical and sometimes magical items, such as the Ark of the Covenant, Pandora's Box, and the goose that laid the golden eggs, which are all stored in a secret section of the library.

In the first movie, The Librarian: Quest For The Spear, Carsen had to retrieve a stolen item so that the thief would not be able to use it to control the world. In the second movie, The Librarian: Return To King Solomonís Mines, which was directed by Frakes, Carsen traveled to uncover the fabled mines of King Solomon. In The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice, Carsen will have to protect the Judas Chalice, lest it fall into the wrong hands.

In other Star Trek: The Next Generation, Brent Spiner spoke recently with SFX about his Dreamland CD.

"I wanted to do a CD, and vocally Iím most suited to singing American standards," Spiner said, "because I grew up with that kind of music, listening to people like Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, so thatís the kind of music I most prefer."

Dreamland is a CD of songs, dialogue, sound effects and music that follows the dreams of a character, who drifts in and out of sleep. Some of the songs included are: Mr. Sandman, Some Enchanted Night and You Were Meant for Me.
