Ship classes are typically named in one of two ways; echoing the name of the lead ship, such as the Pennsylvania-class battleships, whose lead ship was USS Pennsylvania, or defining a theme by which vessels in the class are named, as in the Royal Navy's Tribal-class frigates, named after tribes of the world, such as HMS Mohawk.
To make up for decades of their males-only policies, the Navy has christened a frigate to be crewed entirely by women, the HMS Tribadism.

A mock up cover from Amazon UK. They took the original mock cover down and have put this version up - why can't they just put up the actual cover!

Gods of Night
I noticed that they had changed from one alternate cover to a different one. Where do they get them from?

That's pretty cool. I haven't read Kobayashi Maru yet so I don't know if that's a spoiler in that excerpt or not about new Romulan Tactics. I actually like the Fake cover amazon UK put up for Gods of Night, it's certainly eyecatching, I love that image. BTW, all the reviews for Kobayashi Maru on Amazon.com are actually TGTMD reviews.

Will anyone from TOS be popping up in Destiny?

^ Well, now we know the whole thing's gonna suck. I'm not even waiting the extra ten minutes to read that on the Internet before I proclaim my absolute rightness on this topic.

I read the excerpt earlier this morning, and I really liked it. I'm very curious to see how this relates to the Borg and Caeliar.

Well darn it, if the Knife hasn't done it again. If the trilogy is even half as good as these two excerpts then we're in for one hell of a ride.

Great (or bourbon-filled) minds must think alike. I have a similar scene in my next story.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Just FYI, I'm told by my editors that another Web site will soon be posting another excerpt, this time from Chapter 3. So stay tuned for that, and look for early reviews on TrekWeb and TrekMovie, interviews on UnrealitySF, TrekMovie, and Julio Angel Ortiz's blog VoxBomb, and more, in the weeks to come.

Danm, at this rate we'll have read half the book before it comes out. And as much as I want to stop reading this stuff, I know I won't be able to.

I haven't read it yet, so I wouldn't know. It certainly seemed like something they would do to gain an edge in battle and rub their enemies noses' in it.
