Its dirty, really dirty...

The one thing that jumps out at me from the snips of video is how 'dirty' the
construction process is. Yes, building something like this would be dirty in the
real world, but we've never really seen dirty (at least like this) in the Star
Trek universe.

I have a feeling that the Star Trek that we're going to get this time is gritty
and filthy. Its going to be a lot closer to the Star Wars view of ships and
space that what we're used to with Star Trek.

One could make an arguement that Trek has tried to sho a hypthetical future that is somewhat in tune with reality, as opposed to Star Wars.

That being the case I'd imagine building mammoth starships would be messy buisness indeed. Im reminded of what ENT tried to do with first contacts, making them messy bubmling affairs. Thats what I would expect. Imagine a young Kirk completely blowing a first contact situation by some harmless human tradition like a handshake, being a act of war in a alien setting.( kind of like Portho's indescretion with the tree)
I've never been drunk, but I have often been overserved.
