Question about the Excelsior (sp) class..

Is it me...or in looking at the locations/sizes of the windows should this ship be about the size (length wise) of a Galaxy class ship? was watching star trek six earlier, and the ship looks smaller than it should be...any place I can see how big one of those windows is in relation to a human being? Just a nagging thought that won't leave until I get a "trek" answer I guess...thanks.
