Thanks for the kind words, guys. Sorry I didn't replt earlier, but I was out of town for a business trip and have just returned.

So Starship likes the second version which uses Melody while Q2UnME prefers the original Aiko 3 based version. Hmm...

Actually, I can assist Q2UnME right off the bat. A few years ago I shared my "formula" for the "face pose" with Oshikai a maker of vendor of 3D content. He has a couple of accounts at DeviantArt, one for sharing 3D freebies, and a second under the name *Idalacio where he displays his renders. You can access it here...

http://idelacio.deviantart.com/

He built upon my settings and gave the A3 based M'Ress her a "spark" I don't feel I've managed (though he claims he barely improved anything).

He doesn't have all his Trek based images in one section so you'll just have to poke around. Be advised, however, some of his pin-ups are pretty darn "saucy". View with caution if at work. Better yet, don't take the risk while at the office.

Sincerely,

Bill
Thanks for the link the arts there are quite good

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

I thought I had already uploaded this render, but I guess I didn't.

It's an update of an earlier composition. I swapped out everything for Spock, new base figure, new clothing items, new textures, even a new hair prop. M"ress is the same except for a new and vastly improved mini-skirt uniform courtesy of Oshikai. I also tossed in Ptrope's M4 robot as an impending menace.

Sincerely,

Bill

There is a fan-made comic on what I believe is the Star Trek Animated website that features a M'Ress-centric story featuring intrigue on Cait and guest-starring the crew from the fan-made Exeter series, of which M'Ress was a member before her posting on the Enterprise. It was an interesting read.

Someone should draw up M'Ress in the new uniform seen in the upcoming film .

J
can i get a link to that site i cant find it anymore

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Thank Poser content creator Oshikai for those sweet items! He released a purchase item he titled the "Retro Dress", fitted for DAZ's Aiko 3 and marketed as a generic 1960s "mod" fashion. However, with a free "after market" addition he also provides, the generic "go-go" outfit becomes one of the most screen accurate 3D recreations of the (in)famous William Ware Theiss "uniform" supplying the proper division colors, chevrons and every rank braid from ensign to captain. That "add-on" set also has the "spat" type leggings modeled to fitt the digitigrade paw morphs Anchronicity offers in his "Kasa for Aiko" pack.

Sincerely,

Bill

Not M'Ress (not unless she got "devolved" somehow), but why choke the forum with new thread's when this one will do?

The base figure actually a werewolf available at DAZ, but with the morphs so far provided, I was able to warp the muzzle into something marginally feline. I'll be able to improve upon it when another merchant releases a new set of controls that create lions, and tigers, and bears (Oh, my! ) and other other mammals associated with various lycanthropy myths.

To make this beastie resemble Larry Niven's (in)famous Kzinti, I swapped the included tail for a third party prop (modeled and rigged by my friend Little_Dragon) which, as you cab see here, can be morphed int a rat-like tail. I shrunk the existing ears into the mesh of the head and positioned, get this, dragon wings to achieve the bat wing appearance Niven described in his various novels. To keep this semi Trek related, I stood the "rat-cat" upon Ptrope's TOS era transporter pad.

I can almost "hear" one of the various musical "stings" used in the original series as the Kzin materializes upon the platform, particularly the one used when Gary Seven first beamed aboard.

Sincerely,

Bill
Nice, I like that, reminds me very much of Court Jones' sketches of Kzinti he did for Jimmy Diggs' Kzinti movie pitch.

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

I have reworked that setup, obtaining morphs and textures that present a much better feline typw face. (This version looks more like Scooby Doo ran into a wall!) But since I'm at work, the company firewall won't let me access my PhotoBucket account where I have the updated composition.

I'll have to retuen home before I can hot-link it.

Sincerely,

Bill

A Bill Theiss inspired "evening gown" for the sophisticated Caitian about town.

One might reason a furred species would not care for restrictive garments that might mat the dense hair.

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Not the most dynamic pose, but I wanted to showcase the ensemble and not obscure it. I particularly like the "wrap" because it looks like something Bill Theiss might have designed and fitted. Like several of his costumes, you wonder if (read: hope) it might dislodge itself.

I didn't model the items, but I did play with "material nodes" to give them that distinctive TOS look. I call that glittery effect "Tholian shell".

Sincerely,

Bill

And we go from evening gowns to "boiler suits". Here's "ensign" M'Ress when she still served upon the USS Hood. Seems she's discovered a not so favorable reading upon her "trident" scanner.

Sincerely,

Bill

Re: The "Bride" of the "M'Ress Appreciation Thread"

Thought it was about time I presented something beyond a "pin-up". Not all the activities can be presented as glamour shots. Besides, it gave me a chance to try some coveralls that somewhate resemble those from the original series, at least "close enough for government work".

I had a lil' fun with the lighting, placing one up the Jefferies tube, causing it to cast an ovoid "spot" upon the deck and another right in front of the scanner to better illuminate her face. Without it, M'Ress' face was pretty much in shadow.

Sincerely,

Bill
