Does this mean they'll forget about Sinclair going back in time? Or B5 blowing up? His wedding? Also they could've left out the title sequence for the first episode of S2, it confused be a bunch that Sinclair wasn't in it, and they were talking about a great war.
1. Don't worry about Sinclair. That thread will be nicely tied up. In fact, it is one of the MOST nicely tied up threads of the entire show. But you won't see it for a while.

2. Just so you know, the title sequence changes for every season of B5. So you may as well get used to it.

I remember in the old days on this board we used to have whole THREADS dedicated to which title sequence was the best!

Trust me, you come to like it that way.

3. Buy the sets. You'll eventually buy them anyway, so don't waste your time and bandwidth.

I like the new title sequence, apart from the fact it says that there is a war this season.

If they quit on good terms though, surely he wouldn't have just been totally written out without an apperance? That irks me a bit, but it was a good start to the new season.

we agree on Grey 17 is Missing as well. The Garibaldi story sucked...
some people (on this board, in this thread even) actually don't mind Grey 17... of course those are probably the same people who liked the lochley-half of the lost tales better than the sheridan-half...
I don't know how anyone could like ANYTHING related to Lochley better than ANYTHING related to Sheridan.

lochley has several *ahem* qualities that give her a *er* leg up on the competition

that said, the lochley-half of the lost tales has that singular quality that characterizes the best of B5, namely, the its capacity to surprise and speak volumes on repeat viewings. her half is eminently more re-watchable than the sheridan-half, and the dialogue-rich (over rich?) nature means that there is a lot of material to chew on the second (or eleventy-seventh) viewing.

for example:

Father Kelly: A decline in faith and influence of the Church was to be expected once humans penetrated heaven and found there were no angels, no fire eternal, no not even a delinquent sarafin left behind by the general evacuation, just infinite space. For two hundred years mankind has walked among the stars on legs of fire and steel failing to encounter the wonders of the burning bush.

Lochley: True, but still there are a lot of scientists who believe in God.

Father Kelly: Oh sure, physicists have tried to soften the blow with quantum mechanic consolation prizes - noting that the mystery is yet to be resolved in tiny sub-atomic particles whose actions hint of the presence of intelligence. But where in those infinitesimal spaces can be found the God who stopped the sun in the sky over Jericho, parted the Red Sea, birthed the universe, and shaped the molecules of dust until their name was man and woman? Once we got into space, the deck was stacked and the clock was ticking...

quantum mechanic consolation prizes

i guess i should expect such things from the poster formerly known as Vash...

good for you. glad to see not everyone has bought into the blind consumerism promoted by the media. it boggles the mind how people just piss away their money on trivia.

that said, B5 is eminently worth buying. i own several sets (all the better to proselytize with ). you might not believe that now, but as a great man once said: you do not understand. but you will.

To use the novel analogy that B5 was designed around, you're past the setting and character establishment, and now into the rising action section. But the climax is still some ways off.

Me too, the first time I saw it....I'd heard there were some B5 movies, and I wondered whether one of them was supposed to have fit in that gap.

But no, it's just an abrupt change, that's all.

^ This isn't a scifi show is it?

I only allow myself 1 non-scifi show at a time. Otherwise, I can't keep up with all the scifi and classic film, which are my priorities. That is, if I want to get anything else in life done besides sit in front of the TV.

Right now, my non-scifi show is taken up by Boston Legal. And it's not likely to be unseated anytime soon.

Friday Night Lights is not a scifi show. It's about the players, cheerleaders, coaches, and boosters for the Dillon High School football team. It really is a great show, and not just about football, that's just how all the characters are connected, through the team.

There's also a book (true story) of the Odessa-Permian Panthers called Friday Night Lights (good book, too).

And they made a movie based on the book a couple of years ago, also called Friday Night Lights, with Billy Bob Thorton & Tim McGraw.

But, anyway...

I've got some errands to run today, so I'll be gettin' back to Babylon 5 this evenin'.

*double post*

Alright, who has a screencap of G'Kar wearin' Garibaldi's "undercover disguise" from 'The Hour of the Wolf'?

'cause I need a new avatar!

I can probably get one for you this evening... but since you have the DVDs, can't you make one yourself? Not that I mind making it of course.

How's this, or were you thinking of something else?

I don't have the software to watch DVDs on my computer, so I can't screencap 'em.

And yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks.

That's not the best image, though. The scene is rather dark, so I had to try playing with the contrast and sharpening the image. I will see if I can do a better job, or perhaps someone with ore experience can get one.
