I recently was given a comic collection from my girlfriend's dad, and finally found the free time to look through and catalog the collection. I wasn't expecting much, but was shocked to see he has a number of silver age books, such as Captain America #100
, in very good condition! He actually has about 100 issues of Cap between 100-400 or so, all in good shape, which is a good deal since he stored many of them in the same bag for decades, which were getting nice and brown!
So now I'm thinking about how to archive and store them. I did a bit of research, and see that CGC frames are the best. I'm wary of mailing them to the CGC for grading, however. I'm no expert on grading comics, but it is certainly in better shape than the one displayed in the link above, with no folds or tears in the cover.
If anybody knows more about this sort of thing and can offer suggestions, I'd appreciate it! I'll post some images this afternoon!
