No, the first run ratings are that low.

BSG blew it when the fans from the mini and season one started leaving in disgust.

The new fans being the "Starbuck Roxors" types of space cadets isn't helping grow the show at all. The line about it being "Rikki Lake" viewers probably has some truth to it.

The ratings have been real bad this season, some episodes were great others were very poor and caused fans to ditch the show. They tried to squeeze more out of the budget by throwing in filler episodes. then fell to 2.5 million...and lately it fell down between 1.3 and 1.5 million in viewers. Now, that's a damn joke!!!
Sponge Bob Square Pants gets higher ratings, and half the shows on Nickelodeon (a damn kids' network), The Disney Channel has better ratings, as does Scifi's Wrestling...and even Entertainment Tonight!!! YouTube Clips get a higher audience than that!!! The new Battlestar talk about a joke of a show that squandered most of its greatness !!!
The only thing that has kept the new Galactica on tv for this long is the few dimes the studio has managed to squeeze out from its ever crumbling DVD Sales of the series!!! Oh, and the StarTreks, Firefly, Heroes and even the old cult B-5s are killing the new Galactica in DVD sales...left, right, up, down, forward, back, and all around.

I think that RDM will have no trouble finding work, as Galactica seems to have penetrated much further into the 'industry' than it did the general populace.

No you are wrong again, the Stargates have been rating much better than nBSG. Stop making dumb excuses for the show (have you ever criticized the series even once !?)
The new-BSG could have been something good, but they ripped off SAAB, Farscape and Larson's work too much. Once they ran out of material to rip the show got dull and boring. The nBSG ratings are bad and the sales are down this is a fact and fans also got disgusted with the dark soap opera. With a few clicks you can confirm the low ratings numbers or do you still believe everything about the series to be golden ?
The Stargate SG-1 finale got a 1.7, if I was reading the Neilson correctly the reimagined Battlestar got a 1.2

Fact: Ratings for nuBSG have fallen

Everything concerning reasons for the drop is PURE SPECULATION at this point unless someone can provide some form of survey results that are actually representative of the viewer base.
Asking people here will always give you a distorted image (either way).
