^ Still off topic, but in The Godfather, Diane Keaton walks in the gutter, while little Al Pacino is up on the footpath, so as not to make him look like the shortarse that he is!

Is Terry Farrell really 6ft though? I know it says so on IMDB, but it also says that Brooks is 6'1." And despite TF's kinda... raised hair, and usually in DS9 her boots had a bit of a heel... she doesn't look like she's only an inch shorter than Brooks. But I could be insane. I'm not sure when they're that close and side by side it would be a camera angle... Not sure if this is relevant to anything...

Film and TV have all sorts of tricks to obscure actors' relative heights, and those are often used to make men seem taller and women shorter. So you can't really tell from that.
True... my favourite example of this is One Little Ship, where at some points, Sisko goes up to the Jem'Hadar's shoulder or so, and 2 seconds later, I'm sure he's shorter than the second in the turbo lift... hee hee.

Thelin from The Chimes At Midnight (in Myriad Universes):

Michael Fairman

(I don't know if this is intentional, but the book cover's image of Thelin definitely looks like this man)

Conceivably.

Lt. Dina Elfiki - Kimberly Kardashian
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3218248704/nm2578007
Hmm... appearance-wise, marginally in the ballpark, except Armenian isn't Egyptian. Reputation-wise, good gods, no.

Lt. Jasminder Choudhury - Kate Matchett
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2533530880/nm0558182
Judging from your link, you apparently mean Kari Matchett, and why in the world would you suggest a blue-eyed blonde to play a woman who's ethnically Punjabi?

Lt. T’Ryssa Chen - Lindsay Price

I don't see it. No idea what she's like as a performer either.

Cmdr Xin Ra-Havreii - Pierce Bronsan

Hmm, conceivable.

Tenmei T’Prynn - Golden Brooks
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm359635456/nm0112001
Her name is Prynn Tenmei; T'Prynn is the person she was named after. And she's half-Asian, not black.

Cmdr. Samaritan Bowers - Michael Jai White
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2175570432/nm0925227
I can see that.

Glenn Close might be good for President Bacco in another 20-30 years or so.

Those would all be voice roles; Huilan could never be a little guy in a suit, but would have to be a digital or animatronic creation. I don't have a voice actor in mind for him, though. Laurie might make an interesting Ree, though it's kind of typecasting. Gorham's voice has never impressed me. I tend to imagine Billy West as Torvig's voice.

I thought that myself when I saw that suggestion, but then I thought, if he did his full on upper class British accent then that would be cool - and yes when I read Ree's dialogue, it is in a very upper class British accent.

As for Prynn, how about this actress:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1901842/

She's in the up and coming Joss Whedon series Dollhouse and also appeared for a few years on that wonderful Australian soap Neighbours.

if you're going to cast Statham, at least have the decency to cast Statham as someone who actually runs around blowing shit up and kicking ass, not a glorified doorman.
