Hello! Glad to find VOY fans

I love voyager and am happy to have found other voyager fans since there are so many vocal groups who dislike voyager. The bashing of the voyager series is unfounded and dismissive. I am tired of others in the trek community saying that voyager was a big mistake. I can only hope that these forums and other fan groups can be vocal and committed enough to get the true quality of voyager's stories and characters recognized.

Re: Hello! Glad to find VOY fans

hello as me name suggests I am a Voyager fan as well, I love Voyager for two reasons:

1/ More exploration that the rest of them
2/ I am a scientist and the main characters are science trained.

Virgin on TV are replaying the voyagers and I'm going to watch it later woohoooo

I. Am. SO. EXCITED! Finally, people who won't think I'm a geek for liking Trek!
Where I come from, you're considered a geek or a nerd for this kind of stuff. It's great to be here! I hugely look forward to it.

I don't know how old you are, but it was like that when I was in high school. Once I graduated I stopped caring what people thought of my tv viewing habits.

Welcome to the board.

Re: Welcome new Voyager fans!

Same here. I started out when I was really young by getting this little information thing that told me all about planets, stars, all that stuff. Then when I got older, I started watching Nova and other sciencey space shows. I often found myself wondering if there really was life outside of our solar system, or even in it. Then Trek came along. It became my all-time favourite show ever. (Although I hate Star Wars )

Now, my greatest goal in life is to create such advanced technology as the Holideck, which from the news I have heard is a work-in-progress, as well as the Teleporter. Scientists can teleport small amounts of mass to short distances! I wish to be a part of it all.

So yeah, huge space fan. XD

Re: Welcome new Voyager fans!

That's awesome!

Reminds me of something interesting on the news...very interesting.

Basically, there is now technology that allows us human beings to control computers and computerized mechanisms with our thoughts. (As dorky as this sounds) what you do is plug something into your head--I don't rememver the details--and then use your thoughts to control it. EX: For a computer mouse, you would think something like... "Move left" and the cursor would move left on the screen. I don't know quite how you would do "Click" though...

Someone was even controlling a wheelchair with this technology! They say it might soon be used for false limbs and such.

Personally I found that quite interesting, but maybe that's just me.
