Re: TrekUnited Proposed Season 5 Co-Production Deal To Paramount

Just think....

With all of this so called good news....

And declarations of the mighty power of Trek United....

Remember this simple fact, Paramount still holds the future of Star Trek securely in it's corporate vault....

It's Paramount's final call....

Nothing and no one will change that....

I can see that this development has changed nothing in the eyes and the minds of the sceptics and ENT haters. Big surprise there!!

I think this is great news and I am glad that I stuch with the TU folks in whom I totally believe.

I hope this actually happens.
You can call people haters until you're blue in the face...won't make it true.

btw....too much kool-aid is unhealthy.
I rather like my Kool-aid, despite the connotation you are implying.

I still maintain that those at KE who post here and continue digging through TB's garbage looking for something and those who campaigned for ENT's cancellation from the biginning have a heavy hand in this. Those people and the other TU sceptics seem to have become implaceble foes of this noble effort to keep the show alive. That's all I am saying. Need proof?? Scroll up!

We are all well aware that Paramount can and most likely will say no.

Not an especially substantive response, but of course my trenchant and sagacious reasoning gives you little room to argue.

Anyway, I trust you won't get a ban, or even a warning. I've certainly been called worse.

I thought Cillian Murphy played the lead in 28 Days Later.
Eccelston played the top military guy in the last half of the film. And, to be accurate, Eccelston didn't "quit", he had only signed on for one season and one season only. BBC retracted the statement it made about him and distanced itself from the claims of him being afraid of being "typecast".

I don't think anyone is debating/denying your point. It appears everyone (at least that I can see) certainly sees that Paramount has the big "NO, now piss off" on their side. It just remains to see what their responce will be or if the article from a few days ago WAS their responce.

I guess Captain Sisko was right. Every good guy needs an enemy. Apparently for the TU people, that enemy is anyone who doesn't agree with them. And that's sad.

Mogh, This a most interesting development and one that makes a lot of sense to me in terms of dealing with financial reality of the situation. It also clearly took a lot of groundwork to get this all arranged. So, I am impressed and hope it works out. To me, this seems more important than the cash donations.

Also, again, I appreciate the new straight-forward style. In terms of communciation, I'd say you're the cream of the crop from TU based on what I've observed.

I look forward to more news on this. It is an uphill battle for sure.

Yes, Realist, you're just too deep and intellectual for me.

No one is disputing that, as some have already said. It does give the opportunity for Paramount and Viacom to either make some concession that will make all of us happy, such as the promise of a new film or series, or for them to put their money (and ours) where there mouth is and give us a fifth season.

If they say no, then at least we tried.

Funny that's my point, too.

Let's not forget who started a lot of this TU bashing. I don't think their motives were to expose a scam for the good of those gullible fans who TB is so blatanly taking advantage of. Their motives are to discredit an organization who wants to see ENT renewed. I think that's pretty sad, too.

Not everyone who disagrees with TU's campaign or their methods is automatically an ENT hater. Leave the sweeping generalisations at the door.

I don't quite get the kool-aid reference, but I'm assuming it's not meant as a compliment. Knock it off.
