Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

TrekMUSH ( is always open to more players.

My character is Brin Vek, a captain of a Bajoran vessel. I would welcome the opportunity to help new Bajorans learn and enjoy the game.

If you're not familiar with the MU* genre, consider this: When you want to engage in an online role-playing game, you connect and you play. And when you don't, then you don't. And it's free. This MUSH in particular is big and old, so there are plenty of coded systems, plenty of history, and plenty of ways to get yourself into as much trouble as you want.

So, help defend Bajor (or one of the other factions, even the Cardies) or just have a drink at Quark's. Either way, I hope to see you there.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Hello there!

The Federation Sim Fleet[/URL] is a Role-Playing Gaming organization in existence since 1993 and provides games in different genres such as Star Trek, Stargate, Star Wars, Firefly and many more and includes a wide array of online discussion forums on our message boards.

SpaceFleet On-Line (SFOL) is one of the oldest simming organizations on the web, and we're proud to be part of FSF. We are a unique group made of up sims of all kinds, from Star Wars to Firefly to 'Trek to 'Gate with sims running on three different platforms (PBeM, PBMB, and chat). Our fleet website is - feel free to enter and look around.

Below is some quick information about each of our great games that sim within the sub-fleet:

Nocturne's Reign
As the sun rises, a dark and secret world comes to an end, only to be resurrected a few hours later when the lights of Earth go down. Unknown to all but a few unlucky humans, vampires and werewolves, long thought of as the stuff of myth and legend, rule the nights and some even walk among them in broad daylight. In the city of Ft. Collins, Colorado, the intricate web of lies, deceit, passion, power and bloodlust provide but a small taste of the dichotomy between staying alive and keeping the brotherhood of blood hidden from public knowledge.

Star Trek: Project Origin
Project Origin is a unique Star Trek simulation that has been created with a distinctive story arc which runs in contrast to the episodic nature of the Star Trek series. Grounded in the roots of the Star Trek: The Next Generation series, the simulation takes place one year prior to the events of Star Trek: Nemesis and centers around the storyline started in the Next Generation episode entitled “The Chase.” This episode directly introduced the idea of a shared common ancestry amongst the races of the Milky Way galaxy. It also furthered discussion of the unique races that inhabited the galaxy before the rise of the current staple of dominating space faring races.

Star Trek: Aquarius
The year is 2360 four years before the launch of the Enterprise-D, five years before renewed contact with the Romulan Star Empire, and six years prior to first contact with the Borg Collective. For over forty years since the Tomed Incident in 2311, Starfleet has experienced an unprecedented era of peace. However, the on going tensions with the Cardassian Union have flared into near war, and new powers, like the Tzenkethi, now threaten the era of peace created by the Khitomer Accords with open hostility. The crew of the USS Aquarius, one of the last Ambassador-class starships to come off the line as Starfleet gears up to begin production of the Galaxy-class. Join the crew of the Aquarius as they begin this join this bold, new era.

Star Wars: Paragon
Paragon is the premier Star Wars chat based simulation not only in the FSF but on the internet. The simulation is based between Episode III and Episode IV when the Empire is growing larger, and people are not yet fully aware of how evil it is. The crew of the Paragon work as mercenaries and smugglers, now working for a mysterious man that claims to be a liaison for a large business endeavor. If you want to join the fight for freedom a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away join us on Paragon, Sundays at 8pm Eastern.

USS Exeter
The USS Exeter is an Insignia Class vessel set 29 years after the events depicted in Nemesis. The Universe has changed. Cardassians & Romulans are now close allies, and the Borg have all but disappeared. It is a new era in SpaceFleet, but the overall mission has not changed. To explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.

If you have questions about any of these sims, or the FSF feel free to contact me at

Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Project Vanguard/Tenth Fleet Writing Group

Hey Fellow Trek Simmers, big changes upcoming in Vanguard. Although the forum activity doesn't really show it right now, we've got several things cooking. Firstly, we're making the transition from a focused, Post Nemesis group to a site that offers Trek RPGs in several different Eras. With the exception of the Project Vanguard portion of the site and Starbase Pacifica, a sim set in 2346, everything else is in the brainstorming/developmental stages. As always, we are looking for writers to come and enjoy a no hassle writing environment and community based around the Star Trek Universe. Below you'll find a report of what's going on and how things are shaping up. Hopefully you'll find something that intrigues you enough to check us out.

In addition, if you have a sim that you're looking to start up, or one that you're looking to place somewhere, Vanguard/Tenth fleet is definitely a place to look at. Having been involved in simming since 2004 in various places, I have and am trying to take all of the best attributes of several top sites and use them to make this community something special.

If you are a CO, here are some things worth noting that we have to offer.

- No website neccesary - Some people like having their own website. Some don't. We don't require that you have one for your sim, but we'll provide graphics, advertising space, forum space, and whatever else we can should you decide to go that route. I am currently constructing a sim site template within the wikidot main site that ought to perform the same function as a Nova or SMS site. And if you don't want to create your own website, we have a community application process and forum space for you to simply do what most people want to do anyway. Just write some Trek!

- No hassle Simming - Want to write as an Admiral? No problem. We don't have a "Command Structure" in VG/10th Fleet. No Fleet commanders.. no TFCOs... no reports.. no JAG, none of that. Every sim leader is his own boss. Your sim belongs to you and the people who play on it. there's no huge application to fill out or a "command School" to go to. What we DO have is an environment where you can come and join up with an exsisting sim and play a character or come and create your own game. We have a site and some forums and some people. And really, that's all you need. "Well what if simmer A and Simmer B have an argument? Or what is Sim A does something that's not canon? Or what if.....?

Look, most drama that happens on Trek sites can be attributed to one or two things. squabbles over canon or squabbles that result from site politics. Well since there is no OOC rank structure, there are NO politics. And in VG/10th Fleet, your sim's story IS it's canon. So basically if another ship wants to blow up Earth, Vulcan, Romulus, and the Easter bunny and have the Tribble Revolution overthrow the Klingons, then that's cool. And it doesn't affect your sim or your character at all. Project Vanguard was an idea thought up by myself and two other guys. It's a story set in the Gamma Quadrant in the Post Nemesis timeline. Want to play there? Cool. Want to play a post Nemesis ship in the Alpha Quadrant in a reality in which VG doesn't even exist? Cool. We've got room for you. Don't let the name on the website right now fool you.

Post Nemesis Roleplaying
The Zulu Sector is an area of space in the Gamma Quadrant that is home to dozens of species. It's a densely populated area that remains largely unexplored by the Federation. This is about to change. The 10th Expeditionary Fleet, commanded by Admiral Garen Tal of Trill has been assigned to explore the region and set up a base of operations. The Chara Confederacy, led by the Allixi are wary of the Federation's presence. One of the member races however, the outgoing Arielians have allowed Starfleet to set up an outpost in their area of space. A nomadic group of traders lacking the powerful ships of their Chara brethren, they have much to gain from a strong Starfleet presence in the area.

In addition to the Allixi and the Arielians, there are dozens of other races in the sector, many of them pre warp. Starfleet's mandate here is to explore, and establish good relations with the Chara Confederacy and the other unaligned people in the region.

Lost Eras - Pre TNG Roleplaying

The Tenth Fleet's most active sim at the moment is a Starbase set in the Pacifica Sector in 2346, two year after the Enterprise-C was destroyed at Narendra III. Set among the Klingons, Tholians, Pacificans, and Romulans, Pacifica is a hub for all activity in the region. With 6 members alreay Pacifica is Tenth Fleet's fastest growing sim.

TOS-TMP Era Roleplaying -

The beginning years of Starfleet's "Golden Age". Enterprise sits in drydock above San Francisco undergoing a two year refit, along with most of the other twelve Constitution Class vessels in the fleet. Newer, smaller ships like the Abbe Class and the Miranda Class are tasked with the bulk of Starfleet's missions. Currently in development is the USS Crusader, an Abbe Class Torpedo boat set in the year 2272. The Crusader is still in the brainstorming stages. Looking to get in one a sim frm the ground up? Check out Crusader on the 10th Fleet forums under VG003.

TOS Movie Era Roleplaying -

Currently in development is the USS Endurance, a Miranda Class frigate set in 2311. In the years following Praxis, Starfleet has undertaken a massive humanitarian aid project aimed at fostering better relations with the Klingons and helping them to recover from the disaster. This has had the effect of rendering the Klingons agreeable to Federation exploration efforts beyond their borders. But what happens to the outpost when the Klingons renig? Check out the USS Endurance and find out! Endurance is also in development so you'd be getting in on the beginning of the sim with many positions available!

One of the above sims catch your interest? Or are you looking to get something started yourself? Either way, check out the Tenth Fleet Writing group today!

or you can hit me up at

AIM - swagger456

Thanks for reading! Hope to write with you soon!

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Have you ever wanted to re-imagine and re-live Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: The Next Generation or Star Trek: DS9?

Love Star Trek and which you could revisit and reimagine the old Trek series?
Well, I would like to do so and are wondering if anyone would like to join me?

I propose to re-imagine Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine..not necciarly all of them at a go but if there is an interest in this.. !

We start from the beginning of the series and then as a group continue to write as we feel the show could have been. This is not about disrespecting the existing material of Star Trek, but simply about having fun playing the characters we love and reimagine the series.

Now, I am going to play all Commanding Officers, .. so if you are interested to take over the part of Captain Picard or Captain Sisko,.. now is your chance.

Just remember to find an appropriate character avatar that is not portraying the old actor,.. since this is an reimagine of series... new faces apply.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

The Federation, a symbol of peace and cooperation in the Alpha Quadrant. For years, this organization had been the pride of humanity.

By the middle of 2392, that organization found itself surrounded by conflict and darkness, a feeling that could only be compared to the Dominion War two decades prior. The border conflict with the Litvokians had drawn out into a long struggle, one that was leaving the Federation's expansion in the Beta Quadrant hindered. War was becoming routine, and the longer it drew out, the more resources were spent on it.

The Klingon Empire, the Federation's closest ally, now finds itself limited in its ability to assist them. A new civil war could break out very quickly, which would leave the empire in turmoil and chaos, as well as possibly threatening their neighbors.

The Romulans have again gone into seclusion, the likes of which have not been seen in decades. Even Starfleet Intelligence is unsure as to why they have closed off contact with many of their former diplomatic contacts.

The Federation is finding that the entire mood and feel of the quadrant is one of darkness. Keeping the peace seems much more difficult in these times. But as the shadows loom on the horizon for the entire quadrant, one cannot help but wonder if all of this is just part of some larger scheme...

The USS Providence B is the third ship to bear the historical name. The first, a Nova-Class, was destroyed after crashing into the ocean of an uncharted planet in the Beta Quadrant. The second, an Excelsior-refit class, Lakota variant, was destroyed hundreds of years ago, defending a world from an invader that threatened both their past and their future.

With a new Galaxy-class vessel, the USS Providence and crew are continuing their mission to seek out new life and further understand the wonders of the Beta Quadrant. As they continue to explore the frontiers, they encounter both dangerous species and friendly allies. The diversity of the galaxy is made even clearer as the Providence explores the Beta quadrant.

Unfortunately, the Beta quadrant is a dangerous place. The Litvokians, a feline race, have declared war on the Federation. Though they are limited in terms of ships and speed, they still pose a threat to Federation interests in the Beta quadrant.

Join this AIM/AOL chat sim game Thursday nights at 8:00 PM US Eastern time in the "USS Providence" chat room. For more information or to join, contact the primary GM, FSF Josh ( or visit their website at .

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Defending the Alpha Quadrant isn't an easy task. With the Cardassians on one side; the Ferengi, Breen, and Tzenkethi on another; and the whole of the Federation in the middle.

If you are:

- an imaginative and/or experienced writer
- looking for a unique challenge
- a lover of RPGs and character interaction
- a collaborative plotter of evil

The USS Scorpio, a prometheus class starship in Bravo Fleet's Task Force 72 Alpha, needs YOU to help defend the homefront and safeguard the very heart of the United Federation of Planets! Based upon the design of the Intrepid Class Ship, it has the ability to seperate into 3 sections during combat with it's Multi-Vector Assault Mode in order to take on larger or multiple adversaries.

The USS Scorpio explores and defends the Federation/Breen boarder of the Alpha Quadrant. Tensions remain high with this largely unknown race, and danger lurks within every turn. The USS Scorpio is the first line of defense, protecting the Federation from a race largely viewed as pirates and mercenaries.

We are a Play By Forum/Play By Bulletin Board Simm.

There are many positions available ranging from the Senior Staff Positions to the Junior Staff Positions, all the way to down to just crewman positions. So it doesn't matter how much or how little responsibility you want, there is one that I'm sure will suit you.

Come view and/or apply for the USS Scorpio at for a full look at what we are all about. I look forward to having you as a member of the crew.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

I am Lieutenant Kate Kelly of the USS Halo. My current position is Chief Medical Officer of the USS Halo.

We are an Akira class vessel set in the year of 2379, just after the Breen war.

We are a canon ship but that does not stop us from having fun between our actual RPG site and our forums. We do run on a 16+ age restriction.

The RPG runs with a basic mission and from there the players play off of eachother to lead the storyline.

The current mission we are running is called 'The Big Bang'. A person has just blown up half the ship and the crew is scrambling to get the computer fixed, engines running and people patched up.

We also have alot of sub-plots running throughout the RPG just to be able to mix things up

Currently we have roles free in all areas, primarily in our security/tatical, op's, engineering, science and medical areas.

We also have a fighter area which we are actively recruiting people to to serve under a Commander and fighter leader who have alot of experience in this area.

Please feel free to visit us at and take a look around.

We have an active mission taking place at the moment, please contact myself at anytime if you would like to get a look at the posts being made in order to try get a feel for what is happening. My e-mail address is, which is also my msn address

We look forward to you joining our crew

Hello everyone!

Second Fleet is a forum-based RP set in 2379. We run three to four week episodes every month. Our mission is to explore the Gamma Quadrant while the Federation recovers from the Dominion War. New alliances have formed and new threats have been discovered as the Fleet goes deeper into the unknown.

Currently, we have two ships. The Gambit, which is a Sovereign-class vessel, and the Akira-class Invicta. We are recruiting for all junior staff positions on both ships. There is a senior staff opening on the Gambit for an Operations Officer. All Fleet members get their own custom-made signature and awards case.

Go to for more information, or you can contact me here via PM, or on YIM at edge982
