The Outpost Byron is a spin off of the USS Mata Hari - set roughly in the year 2415. Outpost Byron is a Section 31 starbase located in a strategic location near the edges of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Designated as both a way station and command post for Section 31 and Starfleet Intel joint operations. Just because the station stays in one place doesn't mean all the action is stationary!

There are a few facets to this sim that my XO and I have in mind for this one - one being a more covert ops/spy feel. So if you're a fan of shows like Alias, Nikita, and Covert Affairs and of course 007, this could be a fun sim for you. The next facet being a more diverse location - with a sort of DS9/Babylon 5 feel with exotic merchants, visitors and ambassadors visiting from time to time to deal with various issues. And there are other facets we'll keep under wraps until it's time to reveal them.

Currently only the following positions are spoken for:

Commanding Officer
Executive Officer
Chief of Security/Tactical Officer
Chief Engineer
Chief Science Officer
Chief of Operations
Black Angel Unit
Marine Commander
Marine Pilot

We are looking the following:

Chief Medical Officer
Chief of JAG
Science staff
Engineering staff
Security staff
Medical staff
Marine staff
Promenade patrons
Religious patrons

Send a message to me via pm or IM and tell me you want to join us!

Hit up the forum at the following link
Edited slightly to reflect recent upates and changes!

I am the XO of this sim and also play a number of various characters aboard Byron.

My vision for this sim is to be something that nearly everyone regardless of sim experience or even playing preference can get into. If you like playing civilians, we have something for you. If you like playing kick ass Marines, we've got something for you. If you like playing "Traditional" Starfleet - we've got something for you too. If you like playing low down, dirty evil SOBs, then brother this is a sim for you!

As this sim is relatively young, we are very open to adapting things and changing things here and there and accomidating new ideas. If you've had an idea rattling around your brain for a while, that you've always wanted to write, but never could find writing partners to do it... we might be able to help!

As far as time commitments, if you can do at least a post or two a week we're very happy. I'd rather see quality over quantity.

PM me if you're interested in learning more - or check out our forum, register and create a character and do an application.

Keep in mind, if you are inactive for more than a month and hold a Chief position, it will be reassigned to another active player until you either return. We have members from all over the USA and Australia - so international members are more than welcome to join!

I am the CO of the USS Lancelot. The Lancelot is a re-start of the USS Lancelot simulation from the Fleet Formerly known as Tango, now known as Sixth Fleet. The Lancelot has a storied history in our fleet, and although the simulation was laid to rest for several years, many players are beginning to return.

We have several Senior Staff Positions still available, and most of the Asst Dept Head and Senior Departmental Enlisted Positions are still open for play.

This is one of those simulations, where the Command Team listens to the ideas of the players, and in general provides a fun and exciting roleplaying experience.

The Lancelot will be running a Seasonal Format as well. Each "Season" will have an overarching story, that permeates the missions of that Season. Every 5 - 10 missions will be grouped into Seasons.

The simulation has an experienced command team and core player group already in place, along with a Strong Fleet backing for support and assistance in all things. The Lancelot also boasts a unique Fleet and Marine integrated crew.

I invite you all to join us on the USS Lancelot, and Experience the Universe from our, Unique, point of view.

contact the CO(Colonel James Lucas) @

We also have a website being set up by one of our Web Savvy members @

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Violence and dissent has spread through the Alpha and Beta quadrants like wildfire. Bloody wars tear empires apart and trust between governments fades. As the galaxy grows unstable, people turn towards the future. Nebulae beg to be charted, planets yearn to be colonized, and as of yet undiscovered species await first contact. Within the shadows, the specters of old enemies lurk, waiting for their chance to strike. Once again, fleets mobilize to defend the beliefs upon which their governments were founded. Uncertainty reigns. What longstanding friendships will be shattered? What new alliances will be forged in the flames of war? *Who will survive?

Your people need you. Are you ready to answer their call and boldly go where no one has gone before? If so, see your local recruiter. It's time to see what really is out there.

Welcome to Federation Space, a Star Trek Role-Playing game set 39 years after the events portrayed in ST:TNG, STS9 and ST:Voyager. Players assume the roles of Star Fleet, Romulan or Klingon officers stationed on ships and bases throughout the quadrant.

Our RPG is going on ten years and we've build up 11 player controlled ships in 4 fleets. Joining us is simple.

1.) Take a look around our site*

2.) Email our Academy Admins at, esperenson@, and halpert@ and submit your application to join our fleet in one of the following departments: Tactical, Security, Engineering, Medical, or Science.

3.) After acceptance you will train through our Academy to learn the basic rules of our RPG.

4.) After graduation you'll be assigned to one of our ships where you can have fun and post wonderful storylines with your fellow shipmates.

I'd like to thank anyone who joins us in advance. I look forward to posting with you in-game.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Calling all Starfleet Personnel; Explore. Discover. Go beyond the farthest reaches of Federation space.

The year is 1800 BC. A group of Mesoamerican people known as the Mayans record look to the heavens. They make astronomical observations, record data, and create extremely accurate calendar that predicted the coming of eclipses and the revolutions of Venus to an error of one day in 6,000 years. The Mayan astronomical observations were carried out by simple measuring methods yet yielded the most accurate astronomical data of any pre-Columbian civilization known to modern man. The Maya were quite accomplished astronomers. Their knowledge, acquired of a course of 3,000+ years, would pass down through the ages of mankind and as mankind continued to develop an insatiable thirst for astronomy, the desire to travel into space grew stronger and stronger.

Fast forward to the year 2387. If the Mayans had only survived and made it to the 24th Century. What great wonders would have awaited them: starships, space stations and outposts, planetary colonies, and unimaginable alien races of all kinds. From humanoid species like the Betazed and Bajorans to cybernetic ones like the Borg, the ancient Mayans would be in sheer awe of the technological advances that made space travel and the discovery of new life forms and civilizations possible. And just think!... We owe it all to their astrological legacy.

Join the crew of the USS Cerberus, a Centaur-Class vessel in Starfleet that’s devoted to carrying on the ancient Mayans astrological legacy as it explores, discovers, and goes beyond the farthest reaches of Federation space in an effort to keep contributing to vast body of astrological knowledge attained throughout the millennia and first gathered by the ancient Mayans using the first known telescopes to man.

Currently orbiting Outpost Sierra II near the Cardassian Badlands, the new CO of the Cerberus, Caterina Scarpelli, awaits her crew before embarking on her first mission, which will, without a doubt, be the beginning of many new fantastic discoveries to come.

The question now lies with you. What mantle do you wish to take on board the Cerberus? Are you a quick thinking engineer who can keep our ship going, a skillful pilot that can manure the ship through the tightest of spaces or a scientist ready to go forth and seek new life? The USS Cerberus awaits your visit with open arms and open minds. Currently, we have many positions open here is just a taste of what’s available!...

Chief Medical Officer: Do you have good bedside manners? Are you able to keep an entire crew able-bodied and prepared for what awaits them? ‘Cause we need the best doctor in the fleet.

Chief Operations Officer: Are you detailed oriented and repair knowledgeable? Do you like working with the newest technology and dealing with sporadic maintenance issues? We have just the demanding and rewarding position for you then!

Chief Security Officer: Do you have a keen eye and the ability to make split second tactical decisions that will ensure the safety of thousands? Is your aim steady and true and your loyalty unwavering? The Cerberus needs you to protect her and the crew and civilians that call her home!

Chief Intelligence Officer: Are you able to keep certain information to yourself and share it with others on a need to know basis? (In other words, are you trustworthy?) Would you like to go undercover on top secret assignments? If you're looking for something different and would like to help safeguard the Federation from numerous outside threats, look no further for the right position.

This is just a taste of what we offer on board the Cerberus, visit us at to apply today or for more information!

In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the farthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.

It is decades later. 2199. Humanity is a fixed member of the Citadel Council, standing side-by-side with the Turian Hierarchy, Asari Republics, and Salarian Union. The most powerful organizations in the Terminus Systems have founded the Confederacy of Rogue Systems, a conglomerate of fascist states, pirates, and criminal organizations. They seek only to extend their power by whatever means they can, prompting conflict with the Systems Alliance.

With the council desperately trying to keep the situation in the Terminus from spiraling out of control, the Confederacy begins to splinter and fight amongst itself. With a cold war simmering to a boil, and the galaxy's sense of safety slowly burning away, agents of the Reapers begin once more to make their moves in the shadows.

The year is 2200. The 23rd century brings greater discovery and greater danger to the universe of Mass Effect.

Mass Effect Universe is a forum-based roleplay, set in the fictional universe of Bioware's critically-acclaimed Mass Effect video games. Our site has tens of thousands of posts, and hundreds of members, and after two years of activity is still running pretty hot. Getting started is an easy affair - unlike Trek Sims, which most of you may be used to, you don't apply for a position in a crew, which then goes through episodic adventures. Rather, you create characters, which once approved, can be used in a pretty free-form fashion - roleplay with anyone, anywhere.

If you're a fan of the Mass Effect games, I would highly reccomend this - I've been a member since 2008, and while there have been lows, there have been tons of highs. And even if you're not a huge Mass Effect fan to begin with, the universe is pretty easy to pick up, being roughly analogous to Star Trek + Babylon 5 = Awesome. Anyone coming from here planning to join up, feel free to ask anyone for help - our staff are professional and helpful, and I personally am among the Justicar usergroup: very helpful members of the site (my username is Enterprise1701).
I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here.

Starbase Bravo: Between Hope and Madness

Starbase Bravo-a Star Trek Post-Nemesis Spacedock-Class sim with a twist of H.P. Lovecraft…

Starbase Bravo was built in orbit around Raeya III, far from the comforts of the Alpha Quadrant. Its mission- promote peace, commerce, and liberty in the Raeyan Sector- the crossroads of the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and a dozen other interstellar powers. Diplomats come to negotiate, merchants come to trade, explorers come to discover, and drifters merely wander through. They have come to Starbase Bravo to forge lasting peace and prosperity, but all also have their own agendas…

The final test of a revolutionary propulsion system that held the promise of venturing beyond our galaxy instead opened a doorway to madness. It slashed open a seething ribbon of space, known as The Scar. Garbled messages from the past, present, and possible futures, and messages in unknown languages are heard in its constant subspace static. Ghost ships appear and fade near it, and time flows in strange directions. The Scar's opening has driven some mad with the single desire to enter its maw, and they will stop at nothing to succeed. Cities of the Ancients, dead and covered in the dust of eons, are suddenly awakening from their long slumber, with purpose unknown. Starbase Bravo struggles to keep the curious and The Called away from the Quarantine Zone around The Scar.

Now tensions are on the rise in the Raeyan Sector as those who seek to dominate it sense opportunity. Has the Raeyan Sector become a battleground for ancient titans now awakening from their long slumber?
Who or what lies beyond The Scar? Will peace reign in the sector, or will conflict tear it apart? Come join the crew of Starbase Bravo and uncover the terrible secrets The Scar keeps, and change war and ruin to
peace and prosperity.

We are in need:
* Security Chief
* Chief Intelligence Officer
* Chief Medical Officer
* Marine XO
* Ops Chief
* Suggest something!

Current Episode: All Its Land Is Brimstone And Salt
Starting soon! After years of silence, a Romulan astrophysicist colleague contacts the station's Chief Science Officer claiming she has information that could change the galaxy, only to be found murdered later on the station. What did she discover that was worth killing over? Join and find out.

From the CO:
Starbase Bravo is currently aged 17+ forum based game in 2387. We strongly emphasize character development and interaction. The mood of SBB is DS9 meets Babylon 5 meets the new Battlestar Galactica meets H.P.
Lovecraft. The Raeyan Sector is a troubled area of space and is only further complicated as being the site of something beyond our understanding trying to pierce our universe in the form of The Scar.
Things will never be as they seem on the surface and things won't always end well for us. Our characters are ever mindful that this is an area of great strife and our presence is all that stands between peace and total chaos in the region(hence our motto, Between Hope and Madness). I'll try to come up with exciting and complex story lines and throw in twists and turns for you along the way,and give the players every opportunity to grow their characters.
Come join us.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

Are you burned out on Trek Simming because you:

are required to simm according to someone else’s excessive limits?

are frustrated with bureaucracies, politics, stifling rules, and punishments?

have to write long proposals to a command structure for one small change on your ship, or to promote an excellent player?

are told you can’t play the character you have written with for 5 years because he or she is too high in rank and you don’t want to demote them?

have to have a certain number of players on your game, and a certain level of activity?
waste valuable time filing monthly reports rather than actually playing?

We at Task Force 93 are all Trek simming veterans and have all been there, and we say ‘no’ to this!

If you are there and yearn for a Trek simming experience that is fun and satisfying, we invite you to join us. In Task Force 93, “Yes“ and “you can” are the answers because in Task Force 93 you are the master of your own destiny. There is no command structure to be subservient to, every CO has a vote and a voice. You run your game in your own way, and we give you hosting on our wiki to do it. We have only 6 simple rules to follow. Task Force 93: the fulfilling Star Trek simming experience.

Task Force 93 is now mobile friendly : review forums posts on our bulletin via your mobile device: visit our forums for details.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

In the year 2381, the BORG invaded the Alpha and Beta Quadrants with a Collective campaign not of assimilation but total annihilation. The Federation and its allies mounted a desperate and ultimately doomed attempt to stem the BORG tide. If not for the intervention of an unknown species called the Caeliar, the BORG would have completely destroyed every inhabited world in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. As a result of the invasion, over 63 billion lives were lost and dozens of worlds were decimated or left in ruins. Starfleet, who bore the brunt of invasion, was severely weakened having lost 40 % of ships and personnel.

Now 6 years later, much has been done and the reconstruction effort continues but the Alpha and Beta Quadrants had been changed forever. Desperation and piracy have run rampant. Alliances have been strained and new ones have been forged.

The Raeyan Sector has become a key source for the materials and resources needed for the rebuilding efforts of the quadrants. Makkus IV, home to approximately 150 million beings, has become a waypoint for freighters, cargo vessels and other crafts from nearly all corners of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Makkus IV has become a place where entrepreneurs and profiteers come seeking to profit from resource rich Makkus system.

The Federation and Starfleet are tasked with the security of this vital system. Echelon Station does its part to keep the peace and protect Federation interests in the Makkus system.

That is the setting of the Echelon Station RPG. If you are up for a different take Star Trek Role Playing, then Echelon Station is for you. We emphasize on role playing in the Star Trek Universe through creative writing, character development and imaginative storylines. So, stop by and join the crew of Echelon Station. Positions are available in all departments. Join in on the adventures of Echelon Station. We would love to have you aboard.

Re: RPG Recruitment Thread

My apologies if I'm putting this in the wrong area, but I'm looking for a chat-based RPG. I have about, oh, 11 years of experience, and used to run my own sims. I was pretty big on the old AOL sims (man, those were the days). I used to run an entire Academy whereby I'd teach people canon technologies, responsible simming, and so forth. So I'm pretty well versed.

I'd like to get back into it, but it seems most sims are message board now. I'm not interested in that at all. Just looking for chat. Preferably canon Trek, and I want it to be challenging. None of this "everyone is half telepathic, half telekinetic" junk.

If you know of any such sims, please let me know via PM! Looking forward to it!
