Ok, so I'm not sure exactly where the problem lies, but I was told to post AV problems here rather than in QSF, so here I am. SO, my question is...

Where did it go? It went AWOL on me a little while ago, so I went and re-uploaded the pic to refresh it. I came back here, and it was back again, no problems. It's wandered off again sometime after lunch today. the BBS knows I have SOMETHING, because there's a space left under my name with a conspicuious absence... The link is still valid in the MY HOME section of BBS, and sometimes the pic shows up there. Any help/suggestions? Thanks.

I have some avatars hosted at Photobucket. My problem now is I have no idea how to make avatars...though what I really want to do is a slideshow kind of thing. I've got two great pictures I want to use! Can anyone help?

I can see what I can do. Though I can't guarantee quality, I don't have that much experience with animated AVs but I have been making TrekBBS cards for people.

Download MS Gif Animator and follow this tutorial on how to use it.

The program is only 1 Meg in size and is free. It's also very easy to understand.

I received a PM from the AutoAdmin saying my avatar violated the rules, etc. It is a 79x77 px and only 2.1 K in size.
Any ideas?

It just said it violated the rules? No details?

Maybe it didn't get a response from the site hosting it.

Download MS Gif Animator and follow this tutorial on how to use it.

My pictures aren't gif images though...they're png and jpg.

The Gimp does animated gifs based on layers. You'll have to download the plugin for gif support since it couldn't be integrated with the regular version because of patent issues. On the page where they offer that plugin there is a list of places the patent is still valid. If you live in the US, it has expired and you can download the plugin. The whole thing is free.

Here's an online image converter that will change your images to the correct format.

You're right, it doesn't seem to be working.

Try this one instead. It can only do .jpg to .gif, and vice versa.

After uploading your image just do this:

Click on 'EDIT' then 'FORMAT CONVERT', and it will automatically convert from .jpg to .gif.

Hmmm...I'll have to find another av with jpg instead of png so I can convert it. Thanks for your help! Hopefully I'll figure out how to do this...
