I'd have voted for all the others besides Niven, if it weren't for that dang radio button!

Sir Sean is still (and forever will be) the epitome of all that is cinematic Bondness. However, I think Brosnan is the best actor--or rather gave the best performances--of the bunch. It's too bad most of his films sucked. But then, I'd argue the only redeeming value in either TWINE or DAD is his performances.

Daniel Craig. I think he's the best actor of the bunch and I find his Bond to be the most interesting as a character.

Given that they're basically playing different characters, this is a silly question with no right answer.

That said, the correct answer is Craig.

I object to the lamentable lack of Barry Nelson on this poll.
And his inimitable portrayal of the American agent Jimmy 'Card Sharp' Bond ?

"Card Sense" Jimmy Bond.

I'm still a little ashamed that I was so dismissive when he got the job because he's utterly brilliant.

The only thing I have against him is that he doesn't ever seem like he enjoys the role, by contrast one of the things I love about Brosnan is the unabashed glee in his eyes as if he can't quite believe he's 007!

I know I put Connery last, but really I've never met a (canon) Bond I didn't like. I just find it hard to empathise with Connery's version.

I don't want Daniel Craig to go anywhere just yet, but you do have to wonder just what sort of 007 will follow him?

That would be very interesting. I was very much a fan of the idea of Colin Salmon getting the role before Daniel Craig got the job.

One in his mid-to-late 20s, I hope. As good an origin story as CR was, I now think it didn't go far back enough - I want to see Bond in his active duty military days; see why he decides to part ways with that team-based culture in favor of the hyper-individual style we associate him with. I wanna see what makes him tick and motivates him, whether he's ever thought of having any kind of life outside military and spy missions. Could also be fun to see a less cultured, more flippant Bond who has to learn to appreciate the luxuries of the super-rich. In CR, as much as he's grown by the end, he's already pretty much the classic James Bond in that first scene in the office.

Except he drives a Ford, drinks Long Island iced tea, and dresses like a golfer.
