Re: So, is each movie someone's top favorite?

I think we got to have just one person say they love STV the best and we'll have success.

There's people out there who've never seen the first 10 so either ST09 or STID's gotta be their favourite.

I reckon Shatner's favourite's gonna be STV.

*'09 and ST:ID I don't consider Star Trek
Just as much 'Star Trek' as Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise.

Just on this board I've seen every single film listed as at least one person's favorite, at least up through 2009. I don't spend much time in the new movies forum, so I dunno if anyone there has listed STID as their fave.
Awesome avatar, Maurice!

Every movie has got its own unique pros and cons. It shouldn't surprise anyone that there would certainly be people out there who like the movies that they don't, and vice versa. Different people can get different things out of the movies that they watch. Really I have little time for 'the fan consensus'. I value hearing differing opinions.

TVH has always been my favorite. I love the humor and the chemistry between the cast.

^This.

I love reading people's opinions on here, I often find that I view certain films or scenes differently now because someone's pointed out something I'd never noticed before or is analyzing something from a different point of view.

That being said, I still find it difficult to see how anyone would put TFF at the top of the list.

When did all this TMP revisionism start?

I know there are some The Final Frontier fans around here.
I like it for the character scenes, but I find it hard to believe it could be someone's favorite.

What revisionism? The Motion Picture has always graded well here.

One of the many things that I hate about The Big Bang Theory is that they all hate The Motion Picture.

I know a lot of "nerds" who like it, including myself.
It seems more and more apparent that they only take a concensious from the smallest amount of idiots and shove all of those responses into the characters feelings and thoughts, without ever doing any real research.

I would put good money on 2-Headed Shark Attack being nobodies favourite movie.

I do like STV, but it's not my favourite.

I like TFF distinctly more than TVH. After TVH I was really hoping the films would get back to more final frontier and strange new world adventure. Well, they did, but not quite in the way I had hoped.

I look at TFF much like I see some of TOS' third season episodes: there are redeeming qualities within it that are overshadowed by poor choices.

I also like TFF over any of the TNG films, largely because of the characters.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is my favorite Trek film. It is also the most silly, but whatever. And no it wasn't my first. I watched the TNG ones first.

However, you have to love the Big Bang Theory for making so many Star Trek references.
