Agent Pendergast series

Even though these books have been consistent best sellers since 2002, it seems like I never run into any other fans of the series, so I figured I'd ask around here; is anyone here a fan of the special FBI agent from New Orleans? He is a bit like Sherlock Holmes, but not quite as anti-social and his cases tend be a bit more macabre. I think that the books are screaming for a film or television adaption, and I actually think they could work well as a TV series since there is enough material there at 12 books in the main series. The first book featuring Pendergast was already adapted into a movie in the 90s called 'The Relic' but Pendergast was only a supporting character in that book and was cut entirely from the movie, although it is still a decent flick.
