Where in the TOS timeline does Seekers start?

If I'm not mistaken, VGD ran concurrently with TOS, i.e. both series end in 2268. That means the series starts off in 2268/69.

If it goes past 2270, I'd love to see the gradual evolution of TOS to TMP aesthethics.

^Actually VGD (not counting the 2270 frame) ends just a couple of months past "The Tholian Web," so a few months before the end of season 3. TOS is generally accepted to end in 2269.

Re: Who are the cast of Seekers?

The historian's note for Storming Heaven says that the main story is in 2268, coinciding with the latter half of TOS season 3. The historian's note for In Tempest's Wake says that it begins 5 days after the destruction of Vanguard and then the next page says 2269. Then the frame story of What Judgments Come/Storming Heaven takes place in April 2270. So Second Nature begins at some point between January 2269 and April 2270. Probably closer to the former.

The historian's note for Seekers #1 states that the story takes place in August 2269.

It's kind of interesting that we're currently dealing with roughly three 'cusp' periods in Trek Lit.

Enterprise leading into The Birth of the Federation and pre-TOS.

TOS/VGD leading into TMP era.

TNG/DS9/VOY leading into the late 24th Century and Beyond.

So many story possibilities exist "between the moments" so to speak... I'm really looking forward to how these Transition Periods are dealt with.

And IMO at least they are absolutely fascinating periods.
I didn't realize Vanguard covered the whole 3 years of TOS.

Actually the first three Vanguard books take place between the second pilot and the first season.
