And still no word on a complete series Blu-ray release. *sigh*

I'm starting to think that a complete series blu-ray will never happen. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Re: 24: Live Another Day. Discussion Thread. (Spoilers)

Just read the transcript of the comic-con panel. Pretty disappointed, they didn't announce another season (I really thought they would) and they only vaguely talked about the possibility of a movie. While it was neat to hear Kiefer discuss how it was to film in London, overall it was just disappointing.

Re: 24: Live Another Day. Discussion Thread. (Spoilers)

I've not watched it for a few days as I've started an impromptu run through of Community. It's far easier to binge watch 3 or 4 episodes in a row of a half hour comedy than it is a drama like 24.

That's not to say I'm not enjoying season 8, because there's a lot I like about it. I'm actually halfway through it (or almost, episode 12 is next up) and am really eager to see where they go with some of threads they set up. What I'm most interested in is to see exactly what it is that Jack does that puts him on the run and eventually turning himself into the Russians at the end of Season 9.

I do have a complaint though: as fresh and interesting as I found the Washington DC setting of Season 7 to be, the New York setting for Season 8 feels really "been there, done that." It's probably because I've seen countless cop shows and other dramas set in the city that it feels so familiar to me.

^Yeah, I kind of felt the same way, although it's still a welcome change from L.A., which was getting pretty stale by the time season 6 rolled around.

I'm currently halfway through season 3 in my rewatch (Ramon Salazar just done gone blowed up). Been doing 6 episodes a night, which is quite an endurance test, especially since I'm insisting on listening to the commentary track on each disc, stretching it out even longer, although those sort of provide "breaks", as I'm having them play in the background while I do other stuff on the computer. I'm eager to get to seasons 4 and 5, since it's been ages since I've watched those. The last time I did a rewatch I only got through the first three seasons before giving up.

Been watching it over the last week and just finished...

WE NEED ANOTHER ONE Can't leave Jack like that. However saying it I thought it was well worth a watch and it made me realise how much I miss 24. I could of done without the double agents/tratior among them stuff as its been done to death and then some in 24 (Starbuck character in season 8 was just like really again).

I would love to watch another one though the 12 episode arc makes there little need for filler crap though I would like the timp jump to occur at the halfway point.

When Jack held that katana to Cheng's throat, I was waiting for Cheng to say "I'm not Japanese, you God damn racist!"
I love that made me weep!

Re: 24: Live Another Day. Discussion Thread. (Spoilers)

I got around to watching episodes 12 and 13 of Season 8. The notable events in those two episodes are Chloe going all Bauer on the NSA guy and Dana Walsh going all evil.

To comment on Chloe's shenanigans, once Renee told her to do "Whatever it takes" I just knew she was going to copy Bauer and pull a gun on the guys...and I was not disappointed! I love Chloe, she's my favorite character next to Jack, but I think that's true for a lot of fans.

I just hit the midway point of season 4 myself. Driscoll finally left and Michelle just arrived. Hallelujah! Now I'm eagerly awaiting Logan, and Bill Buchanan, and Palmer, and Cheng, and Mandy, and Chloe's return... Good times ahead!

I think so too though I remember that when Chloe was first introduced that a lot of fans hated her and wished for her death. At some point, I don't remember when it was people started really liking her. When Chloe first showed up I disliked her a lot. Eventually I came around. I wish I could remember what made me start liking her.

Yeah, Evil Dana would've handled the white trash blackmailers quite differently, don't you think? Another instance of the writers coming up with a twist for the sake of a twist instead of planning it out.

I swear I read an interview somewhere where one of the showrunners was patting himself on the back for deciding to make a CTU operative a mole, but I could be wrong.

I think when it was when Chloe should more reason than anyone else in the show by listening to Jack and doing the things he asked.

Yep, you're right. The producers were confused why audiences hated her so much (we hated her because she was pointless and her story with White-Trash Dicaprio was infuriating) but they felt they needed to capitalize on that so they pretty much just decided to make her mole.. In order to.... justify? The hate we had for her? I dunno, but if this show had a jump-the shark moment when it embraced the silliness and went for the finish-line then making Dana the mole "just 'cause" was the point when the show fucked that shark.

You're probably right, I didn't give it too much thought at the time. It would have been nice to see it play out like it seemed to be intended originally, where it was just a women who kept digging herself into a deeper hole, which ended up in murder.

But this isn't dampening my enthusiasm for the second half of the season, there's still so much I enjoy about this season, including Anil Kapoor who is just stealing every single scene he is in.

I saw this yesterday, it's really cool. Works as a self-contained clip to show what's become of Tony and to open the possibility of redemption for him, which many of us hoped for. But I really hope that it's opening up a possible storyline for the next season. Perhaps some threat arises that ties back to Jack and Tony's days in CTU and which only they can deal with, leading to their releases from their respective prisons. It'd be interesting to see how they'd get along now - particularly when Jack's behaviour at the end of S8 was a bit like Tony's in S7.
