Voted! And yeah ... can I nominate myself as a member of the Avatar Electoral College? No? Ah well... there goes my chance at playing king (or queen) maker ....
I used my right to vote. Gotta play smartass, here. Dave Kovic was not a president in his movie, he merely pretended to be president Bill Mitchell (and yes, I went to the trouble to look the name up). That's all.
Well, presumably you didn't have to go to *too* much trouble to look it up, since both names appear under the entry! But seriously, yeah, that's on me. Sorry. I've never actually seen Dave, so I didn't know if the image was a picture of Mitchell, or of Kovic playing Mitchell, so I thought the safest route to go was include both names. Otherwise I figured someone would come back and say that wasn't "really" Mitchell in the picture!
I just dug out an old Independence Day cd and watched it. I had forgotten Brent Spiner (Data) was in it. What I was surprised to see were Mary McDonnell (BSG's Laura Roslin) and Adam Baldwin (Firefly's Jayne/Chuck's Casey)! I didn't even remember them in the movie.
They were?! Could've sworn it was just Dave Kovic's name, earlier. Well, seems like I went to the unnecessary trouble to look it up on wikipedia. No biggie. I've seen it, and I'm still not sure whether it's Dave or Mitchell. But chances are it's Dave, he had way more screentime. Not that any of this is rellevant.
We have a winner! Congratulations to Aragorn, who captured first place with his entry of President James Marshall from Air Force One, played by the estimable Harrison Ford. Aragorn, the next contest is all yours! Thank you to all who participated and voted!
